  • Lightening quick post from me. My on/off cold from the last 3 weeks has struck back with avengance today so feeling appallingly bad! DD has sprouted in chicken pox and so missed her play group Christmas party and picture. No surprise on the pox really given DS2 is recovering from a bout of shingles.

A day of difficult turmoil in work too...Meetings all day and had to apologise for persistent nose blowing! And then my final meeting ended up like something off a Jeremy Kyle show! My day finished in a whirl of dismay at work and chicken pox!

1 full day and a morning to go then finished finally! It cant come quick enough either! So i'm off to throw the kids in bed and quickly follow once my next dose of paracetemol have been downed.

As for what this diary is exactly about, no financials to report other than a NSD for us both.

  • Well illness got the better of me yesterday! I had to break up my usual long 11hr day and had to come home between 12.30 and 4! Last day today, woo hoo! And to be fair its only a half day as well, so come 1pm its party time!!

No real financials to report on. Mrs SJ spent a mini fortune in the chemist for chicken pox and shingles stuff. One payday is tomorrow which is fully needed and then by next weekend when we get our second pay we'll know exactly where Christmas has left us.

Matchbetting for the month continues to be average, and only at £63 profit so far for December. Hoping there'll be a flurry of offers for the darts starting tonight.

  • 1st day off and started with a 92p TT!

Mrs SJ has sold back 4 days annual leave that shed rolled over from maternity leave, so that will be a nice boost to Jan wages when we have 6 family birthdays!

British gas coming between 10 and 2 to fit our free smart meters.

  • Nice start! Great for Mrs SJ, if she isn't going to miss the leave? It's a step I can't bring myself to take... far too keen on my days off.

I really liked having the smart meter (it's dumbed down now we've switched), interesting to see where the money goes.

Nice little bonus selling back the annual leave days. We're having our meters fitted next week, I'm already frugal with energy use so this will make me even worse!
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!
  • Feeling a little bit jaded this morning! Had a siblings night out last night, and i'm not one for drinking too much so feeling the effects! Not much planned for anyway. Mrs SJ has nipped out to do some Christmas shopping for an hour so i'm in charge of 3 kids and 2 dogs! The dogs are just tormenting each other constantly, and its pouring with rain so we're a bit stuck inside. We have a trampoline centre booking for later, but that's killing DS2 as he's desperate to go now.

£1TT for the day and then I OP'd the weekly TT pot, which had gotten up to £3.57.

May start the dreaded present wrapping tonight....

  • Well presents didnt get wrapped...lounging watching the darts was the winner!

So today is my first really proper Christmas hols. Dispatched the boys to school this morning and tbey were most disgruntled that i didn't have work clothes on and they still have a full week to go (crazily they only finish on Friday). Came back and took the dogs out for 40mins only for them to come back torment the life out of one another! Am now sat on the couch catching up with diaries and completing MB spreadsheet (another disappointing weekend and have only crawled to £75 profit for the month), whilst Mrs SJ has gone to finish the Christmas shopping off.

Made a nice £1 TT this morning, and having a quick look at Christmas spends so far i think we may well scrape in under budget (unless Mrs SJ finds some shoes, a coat and a bag to match the dress she "had to have" from yesterdays shopping).
