Great overpayments SJ. Aiming high and setting challenging goals is part of the reason you have done as well as you have.

That's a great interest rate from FD!

Well November will end up being costlier than i thought! Unfortunately there's been a spate of burglaries on our estate (10 in the last 3 weeks), and many more on other local estates, so i had a security man come round last night. Our alarm has never worked properly (going off when not set, not setting etc...) and we've been very complacent and left it for the last 6-7yrs. So we've ordered a new system (luckily one of my volunteer staff at work has a security business). It's definitely needed and with me working evenings and weekend evenings its only right with Mrs SJ in on her own with 3 kids, not that i'd be much use anyway!!

I suppose that's the problem living on a new estate with 5 and 6 bedroom houses and very expensive cars (not ours i need to add), they become a target. Listening to accounts it seems as if the spate of incidents are well organised as opposed to kids and druggies!

In other money news we've run out for the month! We're in cross over from using a CC card for everyday spends and paying off in full to build up points, to abandoning the card. This pay period has been the cross over month, but all will be back to normal next paydays.

With 4 days to go on our ebay listings we currently have 7 auctions that will sell, so £29 guaranteed so far. Obviously i'll relist and we also have another 10-15 new items to list.

I have nothing else to report other than the dreaded winter garden tidy has still to be tackled....Today was going to be the day (day off) but i've been attacked by the lurgy, so the pulsing head ache gives me yet another excuse to delay... I'm setting a deadline for Saturday afternoon (unless the expected hangover from a friends Friday 40th gives me another excuse!).

Well, this is my perfect weather with it being cool and crisp. So baby in pram, pooch on lead and im heading out for a big walk.

  • Hi SJ, money on security is very well spent. We have a pretty nice car, and someone tried to break in and steal it last month. We spent a lot upgrading the alarm system and having CCTV installed - I can sleep much better now. The b*******s keyed the car though when they realise they weren't going to be able to pinch it!

We have 4 cats. One might give them a beady eye and the other 3 would probably beg them for food before following them around the house watching them steal the Tv and iPads. Although the kittens might accidentally trip them up weaving in and around their feet, so I suppose that could be classed as a deterrent?

Well first week back for the kids in school is nearly done. I must confess they've found it tough after the travel of holiday, and 3am landing!

Night out tonight for a 40th, but it is a couples thing and we do have a table booked so the drinking won't be too ridiculous. Last train home is 11.25, but kids are sleeping out so we may have a few cheeky ones at home later! I have half a chance of not being in a body bag all day tomorrow..........

other than that my weekend plans (not sure what Mrs SJ or the boys have planned for me) are dog walks, sport on tv and snoozing...we'll see....
