I got a good deal in travel insurance through aviva advantage. Even once I included my decidedly spotty medical history......
Worth having, especially for free0 -

49p TT this morning, the pot stands at £2.29 for the week. We have a day of booze, food and music today as using a Christmas present, and typically 2 out of 3 kids are rotten with colds! Keep em dosed up for nanny and hope for the best!
£50 cash back has tracked already and apparently will pay on 6th August so that will be a nice boost to August mortgage. We had discussions last over 2yr v 5yr fix, 1.79% v 2.19% (hypothetical figures)... Decisions decisions coming up, especially with the next couple of years of uncertainty etc... At the minute I'm leaning to 2yr but would do 5yr if things get so low we can get 5yr for 1.99% which we have now!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
I know someone remortgaging this month and cannot seem to find less that 2.44% for under 60% LTV without changing and paying a large fee (not worth it, in their case):(
And on reading bits and bobs, quite a few seems to think the interest rates are about to take a plummet, If I was looking for a new deal in the next few months, think I would wait as long as I could - nerves of steel come into play for this one :rotfl:
I'm sure you'll find a good deal along the line somewhere

By that time, we should see the way things are heading. I'd love to be able to have a new deal coming up in the next 8-9 months, but mine is due Oct 2017, but if staying with same mortgage company, they will let you seal new deal 3 months before end of 1st one. Just to play devil's advocate, how exactly could rates plummet? 2.44% (or less with a fee) is already incredibly low for the level of debt/risk. Banks are still going to want to make some money on the deal, so they're hardly going to offer 0.1% mortgage rates. I could see other rates going way down (namely savings/interest bearing current accounts, but also business lending), but I can't see mortgage rates getting that much lower...there just isn't wiggle room.
On the plus side, as MFWers we're already ahead of the game by paying less interest anyway.0
