It does seem a bit extreme to me. Perhaps there is a deeper issue with the person who was posting and they are just putting it down to multiple accounts etc.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>1 -
I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you meet the criteria the banks don't care.
I was thinking of stoozing but think I'd only do it if I was gonna buy a large item.Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

So not much happening other than more ebaying! I was thinks this morning about how best to record and log, record and report interest saved each month (and then cumulatively). So as I sit outside with a cup of tea listening to the kids on the trampoline I think last months overpayment would save me approx £250 in interest.
My task later is to have a look at my spreadsheet and make some workings out! I'll be back later with some offerings.
Naturally is someone already has a super formula to offer I'm more than willing to pinch it and give you all the credit ;;)MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......1 -
so typically i couldn't get this out of my head so i've done it. So far on the overpayments of the 2 months of our our new mortgage we've saved a cumulative £591 in interest (i think anyway).
The best way i could think of was to manually input the figures into the MSE calculator. So here's the new MFW Schedule.

I've also abandoned the HSBC save together plan. Having heard nothing for a month I receive a letter yesterday saying I need to nip into a branch with ID and if it's not done within 7 days they'll assume I no longer want the account and cancel the application! Such an inept organisation don't deserve my business (even it was solely to claim their £10 a month offer).
Same here, after a long telephone application plus being an existing mortgage customer... zilch, even worse than the Clydesdale bank £150 offer
Anyway great blog!
PS Not for every one but in my MFW quest the TV license was binned for a £7.99 NowTV box for catchupNot even the kids noticed it as their life is Netflix, Vevo, Youtube etc. Life is so busy I don't think I've watched live TV for years
