Not much happening this week really money wise as i wait for payday tomorrow. Coincidentally i'm also due £100 switch bonus off FD tomorrow which will swiftly be sent to the mortgage.

You may recall from earlier posts that to hit overall 10yr target i need to find £1k per year from extra overpayments on top of our regular £423. This £100 will go towards this mystery £1k, and should all things work out as forecast, leaves me with just £200 to find in 2015 (my mortgage year works March-Feb by the way).

My current plan is local league refereeing where i get £25 per game, though i've also earmarked some of that for my golf card for beer and bacon. So i reckon £100 from refereeing but this one will definitely be a wait and see!!

So a possible £100 left for year 1!!

i think when your overpaying you dont really mind paying the normal mortgage payment as it all helps towards getting the numbers down :]

Got a few things to report. Firstly that FD £100 switch bonus wasn't paid on Friday as it was scheduled. I'll ring them on Monday about it.

I've also abandoned the HSBC save together plan. Having heard nothing for a month I receive a letter yesterday saying I need to nip into a branch with ID and if it's not done within 7 days they'll assume I no longer want the account and cancel the application! Such an inept organisation don't deserve my business (even it was solely to claim their £10 a month offer).

So I need to find another avenue of attacking a bank!

Hope you get the FD £100 sorted soon!

I am going to attack a bank tomorrow. Santander is my target. I have been pushed away from them by all the dreadful customer feedback but I'm finally going to bite the bullet and hopefully open their 123 current account for the 3% interest and cashback.

When I looked online I could only find info about switching DD's by doing their account transfer which means swapping ALL DD's and closing the old current account. I hope this isn't the case and I can just pick the gas/lecy, council tax and tv, phone DD's and still keep my old current acccount as it's one of my halifax reward accounts and I want to keep a few DD's in there for their £5 a month.

Hopefully I can just open and transfer a couple of DD's and start reaping the rewards of the 123. Will let you know how my attack goes ;)
