Well work continues to get in the way of MFW diaries! I'm off today but have a fiddly day of kids, school runs and appointments!

Debtfree this month is looking good. Thanks to no council tax I'm on fir a £760 month of OP's. My overall target is £600 a month this year and without council tax we'd get this too. Next month we should have a £150 switch bonus so may well have another £750 month! It may get a bit trickier for the following few months however... So I'll need a plan of sorts!

5 days since my last post, which is not good! We had a lovely weekend away followed by some crazy busy work when i returned.

I've kept up with TT's, OP's £6.37 worth of TT's on Sunday, and am patiently waiting for payday on Thursday!

Sold 2 things on ebay for about £4 profit, which nudges the paypal pot over £100, so well sorted for either Mrs SJ clothes or DS2's birthday in August. Still got 53 items listed and a small pile to make a start on in the kitchen aswell.

I'll definitely be back tomorrow and should have some time to catch up with other diaries.

I've been very lax these last 2 weeks with my diary, and catching up with other peoples, so apologies. Frayed Knots alert in my inbox was a nice reminder to check in.

TT's are going great guns and i've OP's £3.68 for the week about 10mins ago. My regular saver matured yesterday and was promptly sent to mortgage (though this was already accounted for in my figures so cant be classed as on OP), alongside the £96.84 interest. I've also had the first interest on the 2 Tesco accounts i opened was dispatched the £4.42 to mortgage, and hopefully the second accounts will arrive on Tuesday.

As for ebay we sold 4 things across Friday and Saturday and have another 38 listed to end tonight, so fingers crossed a couple sell. I've taken advantage of the free listing and 50% off final value fees! The paypal pot is now comfortably over £100.

Our Yorkshire Bank account is fully up and running and we've met the first months criteria for the switch bonus, so once this us boxed off in April we'll be getting a nice £150 mortgage present in early May.

Overall we've had a phenomenal month and look like our final OP total for March will be a record for us at £875 ish.

I promised 5 days ago that i would be back the following day but didn't...so i wont promise that again, but it is just 4 day to accounts posting which is extra exciting as it'll have some comparison data for the first time!!

If Mrs SJ knew the true extent, and with it how much money we have id be in trouble! I may only reveal the truth when we're 2yrs from the end then she can't complain!!

It's all for a very good cause though. It's certainly a good decision in the long term

    All very impressive. :)

I reckon if I took responsibility and started being careful with what we spend, overpaying the rest my wife would be very impressed. As it is, I have a month once in a while when I decide we need to pay the mortgage / be financially independent from my parents only to fall back into bad habits after about a week. :o
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

She will be pleased in the end. I try to explain to BF every couple of months but as figures are still large it's not really worth it yet. Your OP's are impressive once again especially with Mrs SJ on maternity, I I'm really in awe!!!

What's your balance now? We managed to colour in 2 squares this month on the virtual mortgage picture. I love a 2 square month!
    Double the pleasure!

Out of interest SJ as the mortgage master are you currently adding to savings/pensions or getting mortgage done then ramping them up? I'm currently splitting it fairly evenly between mortgage / short term / long term savings. I'm considering next year (when emergrncy fund is replenished) stopping adding to st savings and really hitting mortgage. Then again savings rates are higher than mortgage rates. The question is what is your feeling on this?
