is mentioning that there used to be a NatWest Euro ATM on Bishopsgate in the City of London that would actually charge your card in EUR rather than converting it.

1. Anyone know whether this ATM is still around ??

2.Is it true that they are charging you in Euro, so the ATM will allow you to you withdraw EURO in the UK exactly the same as if you were withdrawing it in EUROZONE.

3.Is there any others ATM like this in the UK that do this ??

I've already said it's not there in the other thread!

No need to go there, just look at Streetview - it's gone, along with the entire branch.

I just popped over that way. The NatWest branch has closed and been replaced with one a few doors up the road. The new branch has no Euro ATM.

So that settles that one... if there are any others like it in this country I've never come across them.

Oops, missed that. I only get the Streetview image I linked above, from 2009.

You can change it. Why Google shows an old image as default I have no idea!

The point about the Natwest/Ulster Bank ATM on Bishopsgate was that if you withdrew €100 it would charge €100 to your card. Every other Euro ATM I've come across in the UK converts the Euro amount to a GBP amount at a bad exchange rate and charges that to your card. We're not interested in ATMs that do that.

So, they debit you on Euros.....and then what? Unless you have a Euro bank account they promptly convert the Euros into Sterling.

Yes, but use the right card and you'd get an almost perfect rate of exchange :)

And if you have the right type of account that conversion takes place at rates significantly better that what M&S would use ;)
