What Documents Should I Receive?

Hi everyone, I am about to purchase a car I viewed the other day. When I go back I want to make sure I walk away with all the necessary documents. Any advice would help, I think I need a slip from their V5 is this correct? And then what happens? Should I be expecting anything else? Also if they have lost their v5 does this…

I would not buy a car from a private seller without the V5 being available to fill in and check at the point of sale

if the seller has genuinely lost the V5 they should have applied for a replacement before putting the car on the market for sale
