It's Halifax, but I guess it the same for Lloyds, including the address.0 -

Not a happy bunny today I desperately need somebody's advice. I have been with Lloyds for over 9 years and I have had 3 overdrafts in the past and cancelled them as I have used them, paid them back and not wanted to keep it on my account. I have also recently paid off my £5000 car loan with Lloyds and paid off within 18 months of having it even though I was meant to have it for 3 years so paid it off early. I have a great credit score no issues at all and have a full time job contract with a well know organisation so my circumstances are in a better position than in the past when I have applied for loans/overdrafts etc.
I go on holiday 21st April and unfortunately get paid on the 22nd April and unable to get paid earlier, so rather than messing around with sorting holiday spends out when I get there, I thought get overdraft back and it will go back in the next day literally. After a visit to the bank today I am absolutely disgusted that I have been declined for an overdraft but they have offered me a credit card and another loan.. Obviously for one day a credit card and loan is just unsuitable.
Please help has anybody had the same situation? I find this customer service appalling! Help and advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you all.
You are making hard work of this. What you should have done was registered for internet banking and applied through that route then if it is declined their is a dedicated number for you too ring and there would be a good possibility they could have done something for you.
In this day and age who needs to go into a branch when you can do most things at a touch of a button.0 -
Your credit score doesn't exist, lenders can't see it.
And as to why your disgusted I'm flummoxed.0 -

He is "flummoxed" why you are "disgusted".
Pretty clear to me that he disagrees except that it had to be "you are" or "you're", not "your".0 -

The branch have little or no powers to overturn a decision. However they can pick up the phone and speak to the lending dept and fight your corner for you.
You have demonstrated to them you have an excellent payment record so that certainly has to count for something.
Another route to explore is speaking to their complaints dept and in the past I have found them brilliant. On reflection email or speak to them. Well worth a try.0 -

If you are going on holiday, I would have thought a credit card would be very appropriate - much better than carrying cash, and often cheaper than withdrawing cash from an ATM whilst abroad.
Moral of the story is don't cancel an existing overdraft facility just because you don't use it...
Oh, and don't ask for credit as refusal often offends.
I have Lloyds overdraft facility. Never asked for it, it was just given to me years ago (I think I did have the option to decline), never used it as far as I remember, but still have the facility.0 -
This is exactly the situation when savings and an emergency fund make life so much easier. If you have some savings you can use that for your holiday money rather than running an overdraft so maybe worth looking into for next year.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

Also with a £6 monthly fee and apr of approx 18.9 percent a very expensive way to follow.0
