Everything seems to be down over the last few days. FTSE 100 has taken a bit of a nose dive. Anyone know what has prompted this?

FTSE 100 has taken a bit of a nose dive.
That isn't a nose dive. Just typical movement in a more volatile period. A drop has to be a lot more than that to be a nose dive.
FTSE100 is up 1.16% at the time posting.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Yeah it is hardly anything at all really, plus you should be taking a long term view with your equity investments. If a tiny blip one day prompts you to worry then you should maybe rethink your portfolio.0

I'm not worried - just curious why, if anyone knows?
In fact, if anything I'm looking at this as an opportunity to top up if "the blip" continues!0 -
It's nothing to what might happen if the Fed starts to increase interest rates on US dollars. Maybe people are allowing for that in advance. Maybe people want to sell before the election: the two Eds are not likely to friendly to savers and investors, and there might also be fears of no decisive outcome.
But, broadly, nobody knows or can know. Fluctuations happen as a consequence of decisions by hundreds of thousands of people, maybe millions or tens of millions.Free the dunston one next time too.0 -
Don't worry. It's only the start of the big crash.0

If you call the last few days a 'nose dive' 'hit' sufficient to start a thread about it here, then I wouldn't want to think what you'll be doing when the next major correction inevitably arrives and perhaps a third or half your capital disappears overnight.0

Just seen this in my RSS reader too...
