Need new Sat Nav car charger
The car charger for my (cheap 'MyGuide') sat nav has broken.
The input to the sat nav is mini USB; the lead is marked 'Input 12v - 24v 1.3amp'; 'Output 5v 1.5 amp'. Are these chargers generic ? and would this one be ok ?

Many thanks

Edit . No it's micro USB. But the picture looks like mini USB. Hmmm...0

A generic charger will work. It's Volts that matter, not amps.0

For a small device like a satnav 1.5A should be sufficient. I would expect 1A to be fine too. If you have the old charge look for the A or ma listed on the device and make sure the new one has the same or more.
Voltage is the same for all USB 5VChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

Captain pedantic. Most sat navs draw about 300ma to run with no charging. If you can find me a Micro USB charger with less than 500ma output then you can have a free cookie.
Just buy a charger, and use it, you'll be fine.0 -

But in the interest of helping people, it's absolutely unhelpful. For one, Micro USB is a standard of 500ma, so you'll almost certainly never find a charger less, and like I said, most sat navs use 300ma.0 -

Which is pretty irrelevant, since the OP asked about mini-USB chargers.
I can't find detailed specifications relating to power usage for the myGuide unit detailed by the OP, and making assumptions isn't that helpful either.0 -

Regardless, the specification for USB is 500ma. Google it.0 -

I personally wouldn't buy that as it's going to be cheap and nasty carp.
You can buy a decent quality generic charger at most mobile phone / electrical shops. Bring your sat nav with you so you get the right one. Many come with both adaptors in any case0
