I still like what they have said and I will be using them still.
Best of luck with it. Hopefully for you, your potential buyer doesn't read this thread and disregard your property without even viewing it ...0 -

Interesting inside info from one of their employees though! For those who didn't hear today's show, an anonymous employee forwarded emails received from head office saying that a very persistent journalist was ringing branches trying to fool staff into speaking to him. JVS (the presenter) stated that he has made one call to one branch, and the rest have been directly with head office. The email told staff to trot out the company line that none of these practices are company policy blah, blah, blah. Another email sets out very clearly that any buyer who uses the conveyancing or mortgage broker services provided by them, will be considered to be a premium buyer and thus be offered first refusals on properties and any offer from them would be favourable over a buyer not using the services. It says that obviously this generates more ££££££££ for the company. Nice!
Oh, and apparently the company is not aware of any complaints from disgruntled clients! I think they will be now!
Interesting that our local property paper, instead of having a double page spread of Connells' properties, this week have the same space but from Brown and Merry (another name that the same company operates under; JVS read them all out today and they have loads of different names). I have never seen this in our local paper before.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

UPDATE: JVS Show is a Connells special from 9 today. He got a message from the boss of Connells yesterday saying that if he goes ahead with the show he will broadcasting inaccurate information. JVS doesn't 'do' inaccurate information. I can't wait!
Featured on the show will be three people involved in the purchase of one particular property sold by Connells. The buyer, the vendor, and a lady who really wanted the property but was not allowed to offer as she refused to use Connells' mortgage services. They are all going to be able to speak to each other for the first time. Should be very interesting.

My offer on one of their properties has been accepted. I did have a call from them the other day telling me that the vendor wants to move ahead quickly (so do we) and that it would 'obviously' be quicker if we used their broker, despite the fact that they know (and she acknowledged on that call) that we already have an AIP!0

I don't understand why do people list via traditional EAs.
You can save thousands by going thru online EAs.
All you need is to list your house in RightMove, Zoopla etc.
All national EAs like Taylor, Connell, Haart etc. are waste of time and money.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

I have to say, I feel very lucky that all this has come out as I think we have been treated quite properly by Connells. Maybe because our offer was accepted after all of this!0
