Hi everyone.
I've had to cancel my Virgin Medical contract early due to me and my partner splitting up and me moving out. Where I've moved doesn't have virgin so couldn't take services with me. The final bill is ridiculous and I am thinking about complaining. Do you think there would be much point? I had no choice in the matter as we are selling the house, and my ex partner did not want to take on the bill alone. I feel like I am being penalised when it is something that is out of my control, and now I am stuck with a huge final bill.
Any advice would be helpful.

Could you try and negotiate a better deal your ex could afford? I think you are relying on good will from someone you can't go back to as no service is available. They have nothing to lose by having the charge stand as there will be no further custom from you. If you don't try you don't get so have a go and see what they can offer you over the phone.0

You can always put in a complaint and there is always a chance you get a goodwill gesture (make it polite and concentrate on your problems not the charge which is what you agreed would happen should you terminate early - it's not Virgin's concern you have chosen to move)
If it fails to move them, ask to pay on the drip if you cannot pay the lump sum.0 -
But it is also beyond VM's control. Moving house (for whatever reason) is a customer decision, and if that results in you breaking your contract then the full ETC is payable. The only legal 'get out' grounds are death or bankruptcy. Relationship breakdown does not count I'm afraid.
If you glance down the board you will see that this question is asked endless times every week-the answer does not change. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
