Storage costs demand to dfs

Hi folks

Can anyone direct me to a template or how ot go about preparing a notice ? 6 months ago they delivered a faulty sofa and refused to replace or refund, now FOC have told them to refund me however they haven't mentioned the storage costs which were stated in all the letters they were sent.

thanks to everyone for all their help in this matter, never give up for what's right and never buy at DFS !

Who is FOC? Only ones I know are free of charge, freedom of choice and ferrari owners club, none of which are really appropriate.

    furniture ombudsman?
  • I think that the Op meant to type FOS (Financial ombudsman service) or FO (furniture ombudsman)

Who sent them letters mentioning storage costs, and more importantly, did they agree to them?

Think this refers to this thread under a different user name . .

Surely until the ruling the sofa still belonged to to the OP so no storage charges apply.

    Not really.
If the OP had the right to reject the sofa (which it appears that they did and they did this on the day it was delivered), then as they didn't legally accept it, it still belonged to DFS or the finance company.

Saying that, unless the sofa was actually in storage and not in the OP's house being used, I can't see how that could have a valid claim for storage fees.

Sofa was delivered faulty they refused to replace or refund
the sofa has been sat taking up entire room in my house which has not been used netiher the sofa nor the room ! They were made aware they I will would chase them for storage costs. I think i am within my right to charge them as I can see them doing the same if it was the other way round.

You can't charge them as its cost you nothing. You can't charge them for storage when you've just left it in your house for 6 months.

If you had proven financial losses you could charge them (but you haven't)

    According to the other thread:
Now the letter they were sent it clearly stated a storage charge of £5 per day
