Oil spills removal

Hi guys,

I need your help. I have the oil spills on my driveway after I had the oil leaked.

Do you know how I can get rid of the oil spills?

What products I need to get to get rid of the oil?

And how I can get rid of the rusty on my driveway?

I heard from BP that pelicans are effective.

Depends on the type of concrete i.e. how porous it is and also how old the stain is.

Hotrega is what I use and find it very effective. Alternatively you could use granules such as Spilkleen or similar.

Detergent powder is also effective but ideally needs to be left overnight and then scrubbed. The problem with that method is if it rains you have lots of soap suds on your drive.

Thanks, would that help to remove the oil and rust stains as well?

Gunk or Jizer. Scrub in well with a yard brush and hose off. Tends to melt bitumen, so if it's a tarmac drive, don't leave it on too long.

It might make it fade, but not great on concrete.

  • Know anyone local that makes biodiesel? The by product is supposed to be good at shifting oil.
Bobs already mentioned my other favorite, washing powder.

Pour Coke on it and scrub. Then wash off with water.

does the gunk have the acid in it and will they help to get rid of the rust and oil stains?

if not how about a little bit of petrol if it would help?
