in Credit cards
Having been happy receiving just the payment due I never checked my statements reguarly. 2 weeks ago I found out that a sum of £6.95 on a monthly basis was coming out my credit card account to a company I had never heard of. I contacted the company taking this money straight away to find out it was a 3rd party in conjuction with the credit card to give me savings on goods. I never received such paperwork nor had I agreed to this. They however refunded me the full amount since start of service. However I then went back to the credit card company to ask why this was happening and they said I would of agreed to it n a phone call. I am very much 100% in doubt I did so I put in a compliant. 7 days later I receive a letter stating I would yet again have authorized this in a phone call and that it would not of happened otherwise
No further action taken unless I wanted to take the matter further.
I contacted the phone number provided to dispute these claims and said if I had made this agreement please provide me proof of when in which they couldnt. That was there reply along with "Oh well you got refunded anyway" I said I would like a gesture of goodwill apology nothing much thinking I might get £20 or something for the stress but as far as I am aware all they are going to do is calculate what interest I would of paid on 6 months of debt at £6.95 which may equate to £5 I couldnt say but I am really annoyed that they have done this in the 1st place and where if anywhere I can go from here? They offered FSO but do I need to take it that far for a already they have held there hands up saying they got no proof of agreement?

What stress, that word is bandied about on here quite a lot?
They have put you back into a situation that you were in before they started to take money out of your account (the fee plus interest), by the sound of it. It would have been nice to get something else, but you didn't get it. I would just ask myself is it worth perusing for an extra few £, and make sure i check my statement each month.0 -

Appreciate both your replies and yeah ok it would of been nice but didnt get is not worth the hassle seeing as they have done what they can to make good already. Stress was caused in relavance to having my claim looked at and being called a liar0 -

So you have spent someone else's money without you having any proof that they have agreed to lend you it?We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the Earth0 -
Lesson for today - ALWAYS check your statements. Now, move on.0
