Had a call refernce https://www.valuesaverclub.co.uk and said i would have a look at it. Signed up with a 30 day cooling off period. Was told i would get £40 worth of fuel vouchers and access to 'great everyday' deals for only £59 a year. Paper work cam ethrough and the fuel vouchers are redemption ie you have to send receipt and form off and it is trying to be Quidco but charging you for a years membership. Looked at ta couple of deals and the deals are rubbish via Value Saver. On their site you get 4% cashback compared to 8& via Quidco.
The 'redemption' put me off even before i looked at the website which you can't log on to unless you are member.
The book that came has terrible deals in it such as £57 off a £2000 honeymoon. It says that you can ave on everyday shopping but i don't think a £2000 honeymoon is everday spending.

Read this while the agent was on the phone to me. His description of £40 of fuel vouchers sounded good, and he was was reading his small print when I came across this post.
I took your advice and didn't sign up. Thanks for saving me from these guys.0 -
Hi I've just had this pack through.......... just looked through this but there is nothing really of great deals, so i'm going to cancel straight away.
Also the fuel vouchers are exactly like you described above but I also received a voucher that was for Jan - March and were now in June !.Teacher 1+2 = 3
CSA 1+2 = 30,0000 -
Hi,
I have been charged of 59.95 pounds in my Vanquis credit card for value saver 10 days ago on 9th aug, which i have realized today about it. I haven't received any paper work or any vouchers in regarding this club as i was informed before and was also told that i can cancel at any time. Now my query is that i don't want any membership in this club. if i cancel my membership can i get my money back from them as i haven't used any of there services. Any inputs regarding this will be great as i haven't got any clue in regarding them.
Thanks,
Phani0 -

They would be for Jan-March next year.
Its a con anyway. You can only redeem the fuel vouchers if the membership is still in force when they issue the cheque which means you will have paid the membership fee.
So they aren't free by any stretch of the imagination.
Rip off.
I cancelled within the free trial and didn't get the £10 fuel refund as the payment was to be made after the trial period ended.
No loss, just the waste of a stamp. But Vanquis (only joined for the TCB cashback offer) lied really about the benefits and said I would get £40 free fuel even if I cancelled the membership.
Have also cancelled the Vanquis card, never used it!0 -
I have found 3 payments to Value Saver had been taken on my Vanquis account and rang them today to cancel it.
I never authorised anything..
I have found out that if they send the post out to you after their phonecall to you,you are agreeing to them taking £6.95 a month on your Vanquis account.
That is despicable..I wonder how many people that is happening to and they do not realise it
Check your statements !!! The number to call is 08004083990 if this has happened to you0 -
Hi I don`t usually bother posting messages but I`m so angry with Vanquis and have noticed other people are having the same experience. Vanquis have been charging £6.95 for the last three months on my credit card for something called Value Saver which i never agreed to but has been taken from me without my knowledge. Surely this is tantamount to fraud. The poor stuttering guy who took my complaint said oh yes we have a lot of these calls as though it was perfectly normal to charge people for a service they had not requested. Pls if you read this and have had a similar experience pls take the time to post and raise awareness because like you i am P*SS*d off with this ever increasing RIP OFF BRITAIN. The only way we can alter things is if we act as one !!!0

I posted about this in a new topic before I saw this one. I'm not going to post it again here:

If anyone needs it, the current telephone number for Value Saver Club of valuesaverclub.co.uk is 01429 243248 which I have verified.0 -
I was called today by these people & they asked me to confirm my identity - to which I challenged this, in that I wasn't prepared to provide confidential information as they had called me.
I'm a little concerned that Vanquis are sharing my account details with 3rd parties, although I believe they only had my name, address and date of birth, and no other details. Yet this is sufficient for them to commit fraud should they so wish.
Nonetheless, I followed through and have registered for the saving scheme, whilst very carefully ensuring it was free for the first 30 days, that I wouldn't be charged for anything, and that I could cancel at any time before the 30 days was up before the £6.95 per month was charged to my card.
I'll wait and see what kind of discounts are available for making my mind up, but I was led to believe a 3% discount at Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's is part of the scheme. That alone should make up the monthly charge (Although I have a 3% discount for Sainsbury's already).
Not a con, but certainly debatable in terms of why Vanquis are sharing my details when as far as I know, I never agree to these companies sharing my details when filling in forms online or offline.
I'll shall be contacting them shortly to complain.0 -
Hi everyone,
I have just found ValueSaver on my Vanquis card statement and as such googled the entry. Thankfully I came across this post.
So the woman on the phone informed me that Vanquis would have rang me to ask if I wanted to sign up to the Value Saver scheme at a charge of 6.95 a month. So I asked when this call was made, to which she replied two months ago.
I have been living in the United Arab Emirates for the last three months so have never received this call at any point however Vanquis have none the less signed me up for it.
She without argument cancelled the charges and refunded the money I had paid.
This is without a doubt a total Scam, I suggest everyone cancel it the second they see it. It is painless, if anyone knows how we can take action please say.0
