In that case I would put all of the mail in a bag and personally take them to the relevant department at the council and suggest they do their home work.

    Yep, contact a Councillor.

And if he/she can't/won't help, complain to the Local Government Ombudsman.

And your local rag might be interested in running a "council incompetence" story with a picture of you looking glum and holding up a sheaf of letters!

Is the car acquiring these tickets registered at your address?

You posted that the DVLA say this car is not down to you at your address, but they would not tell you if it was registered to another person at your address.

Bit of a pointless question really then since he's no way of finding out!

I asked because the council says it is, the OP claims DVLA said it is not. I don't think I would rely on anything the DVLA says or does.

I know there is not a lot the OP can do about it as only the keeper can change anything.

I once had it confirmed that a car was registered to an address of mine by a V888 request. I couldn't do anything about it but at least I had the barstewards name. (and rectified the problem) ;)

I have a letter from the DVLA confirming that only my car is registered to my address. They removed my address from one of the vehicles records and the other vehicle had a disposal notice associated with my address. According to the tickets they are pretty much all given because the 2 blokes keep parking in disabled parking bays, so i have little sympathy. Received another letter today, i think im just going to do a 'Return to sender' on everything from now on, maybe accompanied by a sarky comment related to competence and record keeping.

You say DVLA have now updated the records? When you Return to Sender, write also that the council MUST seek keeper details every time for every PCN ... they CANNOT use details obtained previously as this would be a breach of the Data Protection Act.

That way you shouldn't receive any further notices, as the details for the vehicle marks will not have your address. :)
