Q Park Hathersage Road Manchester

Hi

Wondering if anyone could give me some advice.

I parked in the Q Park on Hathersage Road for 3 Hours, and when I came to pay I had lost my ticket.

I would have been charged £3.50 for a 3 hour stay but instead they made me pay £15 to get a replacement ticket so I could get out.

I cannot understand how £15 justifies a lost ticket.

Do you think it is woth pursuing through a complaint procedure with Q Park, or can anyone direct me to any legislation which states it is an unfair amount to charge for a lost ticket?

Many Thanks.

  • You're on to a loser. You could claim it's an unfair amount, but the reasoning tends to be that they don't know when you arrived, so will charge you the equivalent (roughly) of a day's parking in order to discouraging people from "losing" their tickets when convenient. If the car park uses ANPR, then they'd know when you arrived, so the argument may be different.

They had cameras everywhere and asked for my reg plate at one point and I was having such a horrendous time (as I ended up reversing into a broken barrier scratching my car) so they must know what time I entered.
Also I can prove that I was on a training session at the hospital.

sadly as stated above you are probably not going to get any where with this ....

All the mitigating circumstance count for little ..... they just want your money
By all means complain ..... it will only cost you time and a letter ....and you never know.

    :-(

you may get some compensation firm to look at the car damage ' was the broken barrier at fault'

but with out more info no one can say ....
there is a different forum for such matters if you wish to ask

    good luck any way

I do not think that £15 is excessive. If you had lost a twenty pound not would you post about it here?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
