Cooperative Energy - Tariffs

Hi,
with the recent drop in energy prices I am trying to check what my current tariff, exit fees (if any) and consumption with my current energy supplier the Coop. It is a March 2016 Fixed rate.

However at the weekend I discovered that their website has been taken down for nearly a week so I have no way of checking.
There was no prior warning of this which is the wrong way to treat customers.

Even ringing Customer Services gets me nowhere as 'the system is being migrated'. Great.

I can guess which rate I am on but I would like to check for certain.
Does anyone know where I can find the tariffs? All my searches take me to unknown links on their web-site. Not a good way to treat on-line customers.

If you've downloaded any of your previous accounts, it will be on there.

If not, you'll have to wait until Wednesday when the site will be back up.

Some comparison sites will provide you with the prices on the input screens.

    uswitch does.

Usually a lot easier than trying to find the tariffs lists on the suppliers' sites.

The tariffs are on page three of ten of the pdf if you have downloaded your bills.

This is an email I received on 27 February. Not sure why everyone didn't get it?
    Dear Ian,

We are writing to let you know about a temporary interruption to our online service that may have affected you. Due to updates in our systems, which include a new online account portal, you may not have been able to log in to your online account to view your bill over the last 48 hours. The portal is now back up and running and you can view your bills until Wednesday 4th March.

Following this date, we are expecting a further period of downtime, due to essential maintenance, until our new online energy management system launches on Wednesday 11th March. Once the new system has launched, you will receive instructions on how to activate your new account via email.

From Wednesday 4th March until Wednesday 11th March when the new portal has launched, you will not be able to supply your meter readings or pay a bill online. If you need to submit a meter reading or pay a bill, you can call us on 0800 954 0693 and choose the relevant option.

Thank you for your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience caused

What supply region are you in? (or first part of your postcode)

If you let me have this, I'll tell you the main details of your tariff
    (unit charge, standing charge, etc)
If there was something in particular you wanted to know as well, just say and I'll see what I can do for you :)

    Whoa!

Are you sure you don't already have these details?
This what you posted last year (my highlighting)
I've just left Scottish Power and lost count of the number of calls I have had from them offering me new tariffs. I work out my own comparisons using the published rates and I'm happy with my new supplier.
No way am I going back to SP. They laughed when I told them I had lost count. The call wait is 'estimated at over an hour' and I have also emailed them twice to ask them to STOP calling me, I am in TPS yet they still call.
    Never again
  • Hi,
thanks for the advice. I didn't download any old statements as it's all online so lesson learnt there.
I found a comparison site that told me what my tariff was which is great.
I also trawled through my emails but no record of the site interruption.
    Thanks again
  • As a follow-up the on-line site was a day late coming back. I eventually managed to re-activate my account despite it saying my up-to-date browser was 'unsupported'. (ie 11).
However, I cannot see any of my bills as they are all 'archived' even my latest bill, which is frankly ridiculous. Is it normal to archive them so soon?

For my account, there is nowhere that shows my product name, the expiry date or my rates that I can see.

It only shows new tariffs. Looks like a phone-call is needed

Just re-registered with coop energy on their new system and I've never seen such a stark and uninformative set of account info and billing pages.

This is either an early April Fool's joke (only joking, your real account info is over here...) or I am leaving asap.
Only question is, which energy supplier is less incompetent?
  • I have recently moved to Coop Energy and it has been an absolute nightmare. They are taking a Direct Debit which is going to leave me £300 in debt by the end of the year. They keep insisting this is based on my information ( it isn't as I use 15000kwh of gas and 2500kwh of electricity) and have told me that the only way to resolve this is to give regular meter readings. You cannot provide meter readings on the website as it has been down on and off for weeks. However now I seem to actually have an online account but it is faulty and there is nowhere to add meter readings. Today they have given me a number for technical support but it is not recognised. You can't get through on the telephone for days on end and there is message saying they experiencing a high volume of calls-wonder why! I have also sent emails and they have not responded. I have been transferring providers annually for the last 3 years and have never had such a problem. Mind you they didn't manage their banking system well so why should I be surprised. I am going to write and complain and request that they allow me to transfer to another supplier without penalty. Watch this space!

I think Coop energy is on the brink of a complete managerial meltdown and will shortly be featuring in national media.
