The flashing light means your in limp home mode a reduced power and speed mode to get you home.

Not all readers show the codes properly on these. Got a laptop get an F-Super off ebay for under £15. Not an F-Super 2 which can be several different readers with the same sticker.

Software should be Formidable. Anything that says ELM is the wrong reader.

Sounds like a injector is getting weak, what's the mileage .
You haven't put any injector cleaner in have you, that dissolves the seals on these type of injectors.
Run the dash diagnostics tests as well for dtc codes, instruction of the web, just type mondeo dash diagnostics,
That can show, Cam, crank and injector faults as well as speed and gearbox sensors.

If it's in limp mode you can stop the car and restart it and it should then rectify itself. I had this issue with my Mondeo (2.0 TDCi 130) and it started when I was going up hills, turned out to be faulty injectors. The problem deteriorated so it started to happen more often and eventually the car would not start.

Injectors are around £150 a pop and they tend to last ~150k or so.

But it could be a lot of other issues.

Where do you get this information from?

Take your pick from EGR, turbo, injectors, glow plugs or faulty wiring to any of the above components.

Unless you know the code you are guessing and don't assume a code is identifying the correct failing component.

If you constantly do low mileage, slow driving journeys then a quick blast down the motorway will clear the fault.

It's an injector thing and they need some exercise now and then :)

Won't do any harm to lob some injector cleaner in to the tank and giving a blast as suggested above.

This is where live data would come in handy as well as a diagnostic tool with the ability to perform actuator tests
  • hi thanks for all kind replys.
1- yes i did use injector cleaner with fuel some days a go.
2- check dash dianostic but nothing diff come on it dtc code none.
3-in the morning driven 50 mile no problem stop on services 15 mins and then start light comes on. looks like only comes on when car is warm start and stay on, drive ok but not 100% power still can take to 70 mph on motorway.
4- check 3 diff machnics with there obd and s factor ford test devices but all show no faults.
5- cam sensor, fuel filter replaced and egr valve cleaned with no luck.

Do this. At worst you will have the tools to check for future faults. It saved me a garage visit when my camshaft sensor went. The only point is that I think the Formidable software does not work with Windows 7/8.

The EML will come on if the glow plug lights starts flashing a number of times consecutively...
