As fun as it apparently is watching them scrabble it can cause ligament issues - saw it happen to a Dane once and it was impacted for the rest of its life.
I have hard floors and large dog and it was a terrible decision. I'll go carpet next time. If you are stuck with hard floors you can get a non-slip rug backing from Ikea pretty cheaply, I use it extensively and its great.0 -
I would say to either have tiles or vinyl. Any sort of wood flooring is going to have cracks in it and there's no way you can clean between them, it will also eventually warp the wood, laminate is worse for water damage too.
Our dog is fine on our tiles, and they have easily been cleaned when she's had any accidents.0
