I have checked Amazon and Google but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
I need a 2.5" HDD enclosure with its own power supply.
Can anyone point me in the direction of one?
Thanks.

A 2.5" enclosure should get all the power it needs from the USB port, that is why you will struggle to find one.0 -
generally 2.5 drives don't need a separate PSU , you are going to struggle there , don,t know your needs , but you might have to buy an older 3.5 enclosure and a 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor
sorry can,t be of any more help0 -
Any particular reason you need a powered 2.5 enclosure ?
One here that appears to have a DC jack input:

Thanks for the replies.
It's for a freesat box. Manufacturer recommends the external HDD (Needed for recording) have its own power source. I have both 2.5" and 3.5" drives sat here doing nothing but was hoping to use the 2.5" purely because it's smaller.Sigless0 -
I think this is the second one Fightsback was referring to:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tool-Free-Inateck-External-Enclosure-Optimized/dp/B00!!!R2LS/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Look at the build quality and the standard of English in the first one. Is anyone really that desperate to save £2 over the other?

if your stuck use a powered usb hub and a 2.5 enclosure , however the 2.5 drives take very little power and are made to comply with usb rules0

Some USB 3 external drives (Yes you Iomega) don't always play nicely, especially with Linux. However I would recommend an ICY Box enclosure , but I couldn't find a powered version, so I got a 3.5 and a bracket0

It is a Linux box. I miss being able to record Since I got rid of sky and the twin tuner humax boxes seem much more expensive than a chepo Linux one. Plus it'll give me something to faf with checking out various images.
I've got a 3.5" drive too I was just wanting to use the smart one because it's easier hidden.
I actually have a double icy box enclosure with two HDD's in but not sure if that will work with there being two drives in.Sigless0
