how 2 years old default can disappear from your credit file?
if it is 2 years old then it will be there for 4 more years regardless if you have paid up or not;
it will be under CLOSED accounts section (as you have closed the matter and settled the debt); have you looked there?
Credit Files are not "live" accounts and when you settle the debt it takes some time to move account over to CLOSED section, and in the meantime account may disappear from your file altogether only to resurface again after a few weeks (talking from my experience)0 -

In Noddle, when you pick from the left-hand menu Financial Account Information, then you can see Open Accounts below XML Version green button, and right to it Closed Accounts below Print Report green button.
Just click that text Closed Accounts

Just an update, it's back! Credit score back to 771 so I've gained approx 45 points for satisfying the default (I know it doesn't mean anything)Number 054 - 'Save 12k in 2017' thread - £10,000 target

as the default becomes older can be seen to have less of a negative impact to your credit report.
.....
Kind Regards

That's what the credit industry would like you to believe but the actual reality is its just as detrimental to your credit report the day before it is removed as it was on the day it was added.Defaultless as of 12th Sept 2012
