Also remember going on holiday without dad and queuing every night at the phone box on the camp site to ring home to say goodnight:) gosh we did grow up in the dark ages... And I'm not ever 40....
My gran had a phone when I was young too, I would go into the phone box and ask to speak to my gran and would get connected, what I didn't know was my aunts worked at the exchange so knew who I wasThe person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0 -

I bought 2 reduced boys tops yesterday marked up at £2 and £3 bur at ss till the price came up at £5 and £7. I smugly told oh to leave it be and I would go to cs for a refund of difference plus the giftcard. Cs informs me that as the reduced price was written on the tag with the letters "po" the sa should have over ridden the price for me but as I served myself I had overcharged myself  and was not due a giftcard
Not sure she was right but decided not to cause a scene
I was told this at the weekend that as I had gone through SS I wasn't entitled to a giftcard as I should have noticed that the multibuy didn't work.
I didn't make a fuss in the shop but sent an email to HO to ask if this was correct and this was the reply I received.
I'm sorry when you returned to the store to rectify an overcharge, my colleagues didn't honour our £2 Overcharge policy as you used the self service checkouts. This is very disappointing to hear and I can confirm that it doesn't matter which till you use to receive this goodwill gesture.
I have contacted the Customer Service Manager to make them aware of your experience. I have asked for this to be looked into further with their team as I am concerned to hear about the service you received. Further training will be provided to ensure this level of service isn’t repeated in the future.
I would like to send you the £2 gift card from here to ensure that no more inconvenience is caused. If you can reply with your address details I will happily pop a gift card in the post for you.
Once again I'm sorry you were overcharged in our B@@@ store. If there is anything else I can help with, please call me or one of my colleagues on 0800 952 0101. Thanks again for taking the time to email and allowing me to help.

I have to agree, he is even madder than Jeremy Clarkson, among other things he has managed to ride a motorbike on water :eek:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
