I'm going to take the plunge tomorrow. I love my husband but we are over. What he does to my kids is unforgiveable.

I won't stop looking after him probably ever. BUT he can't stay with us any more. my kids are crushed. I can't put them through it again.

I do love him but he can't come home in his current state of mind. So that's that

    Virtual hugs.

It is a hard decision but life is about making choices and in the end kids always have to come first and you have to concentrate your energy on them - they only have you. Who knows about the future but independent living might not suit your brood so they could be with you longer than most, into adulthood so they are always going to need you.

As for the argument - people who earn more are more miserable - agree. I think its the psychological barrier - when you are paying 40% on the top tier of your salary its sole destroying

Because its not actually just 40p out of every pound it's also national insurance on top as well so quite easily your hourly rate in reality could be less than minimum wage

At the other end of the scale though on small wages you don't have the range of choices are were you live, holidays etc and without savings you have no fall back to cope with lives inevitable disasters

From personal experience I know of 2 couples with very high incomes - one couple have always earned about twice average, must now be on at least 100k. Both have more than their share of misery but mostly what they lacked or are lacking is good health and no amount of earning can buy your health

Youngest son is mostly a happy bunny - he has a full time career he loves, lives in a shared house with 3 others he gets on well with, has his mountains and hills to climb and walk and bike - all within easy drive in his beloved van. He is barely on minimum wage but he is still a tax payer.

Anyway I am either the last to bed or I am the first up but either way a good morning to all - a fabulous Squeezy new shiny week lies ahead :)

Could not sleep, often the case (OH will swear blind he is the only insomniac in our house) - various reasons - so realising it was a doomed attempt I gave up, got up, wrote the days ToDo list and I am now finishing my hot chocolate and then I am going to make another attempt to get some sleep

Blood donation later today, would not look good to nod off mid session :)
