I had a very over large expensive floral display delivered this morning from eldest son who is on the other side of the planet with his mate on holiday - they went yesterday - I am more used to him being away than being home.

Eldest child send a card and rang this morning which was nice - I am actually on the point of a serious falling out with her but I am holding it in check in the hope that the storm will pass without my intervention.

Youngest child is mountain biking somewhere in wales and we had a one line message from him yesterday

so there is just myself and my OH today but I have planned a very exciting week for us :T

    Hi all.

Just to say I popped into a Poundstretcher today as I was passing, and they had kilo bags of Tate & Lyle sugar for 49p. I think there was a limit of 6 per person, but I didn't get so many as we don't use a lot of sugar.
    Hope is not a strategy.

Mhoc, your kids sound super adventurous. I'm jealous.
  • Well Mother's Day has been kind to me today. Not one, but two pieces of silverware :)

  • Just been through the minefield that is broadband packages.

    Wow!

    Lessons Learned.

It's cheaper to get Broadband + a phone line, than broadband on its own.

Different comparison websites get different deals for example, Virgin who I chose had the following packages available...

    USwitch - 12 month contract - £4 for first 8 months then £17.50 for the remaining 4 months + £16.99 line rental.

Broadband Choices - 18 month contract - £4 for first 12 months then £17.50 for the remaining 6 months + £16.99 line rental.

Different contract lengths, same package, same average monthly cost.

The monthly average was increased on Quidco and Compare The Market.

£25.49 a month on average for upto 50mb broadband, and unlimited weekend calls to landlines (Which I will never, ever use) with free installation and a £50 giftcard. Pretty pleased with that. :D

firstly I think mums day is really for remembering our own mums, sadly long gone but still missed - both mine and my m-I-l were demanding, overbearing, opinionated etc and they drove us demented when they were alive but that is not to say we did not love them all the same :D

I think the main problem is that we were not around when our parents were actually at their very best - we only got to know them in their later years - they were probably lovely adorable people in their teens and twenties :D

Good grief  thank goodness my less than well behaved lately DD didn't know me in my teens and 20s. She'd be calling me a raging hypocrite :o :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Xmas Saver!
Here are a few photos from my Peckforton Castle trip. It was on an Amazon deal of £125 for 1 nights stay for 2 with breakfast and dinner. Sadly sold out now so no point me posting the link :( I'd definitely go again if I could get another deal as it was amazing and the best thing about it was that a lot of the time there was no on else around so it often seemed we had the place to ourselves

  • N6GCH - I went with Fuel broadband for £15 a month (BB and PL) for 12 months. I don't know about the speed though, we are right at the end of our exchange so we always have slow speeds. :(
I have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammar :)
