That's exactly what I'm planning to do, maman. :) However, there is a car being added to the 'fleet' at the end of this year, though I'm not paying for it. :D

Is this MrsK still hankering after the new BMW? Hope she doesn't undo all the good work on working towards joint goals.

I think that's somewhat unfair, maman. :( I've already admitted I was just the same and I am trying to be more tolerant towards others. All too aware I cannot change the past, thank you.

She's driven one and didn't think too much to it. We are working towards a car goal but it's a joint one of a Jaguar E type. Won't be getting into debt or rushing to buy it, though. :)

A quick savings update: £260 added, taking my total to £7,870. :)

Not a lot else going on at the moment as I'm quite busy with various work, next week should be quieter. So much for the summer "holiday" from the school / uni stuff, it seems I have less time now than when the days are more structured.

Wait till you retire, then you'll really know what busy is :rotfl:.

Have you been to see the ospreys?

Retired? :rotfl: Don't say I need to think about that, yet.

We've not yet visited the Ospreys as we should be going in August to the family day.

    Sunday 26th July, 2015.

    Dear Diary,

I'll call this one (in a whiny voice) ... 'But All I Want is The 'E'' ...

Despite a dreadful day weather wise, Mrs K and I have finally done some work to the house and come to terms with the fact we will have to spend an awful lot of money in the not too distant future on the roof. I think this is likely going to be a job for the professionals, too. So along with the bathroom, that seems to be where this year's savings (and the rest ) will be going :( .... and I thought this whole financial independence from the Bank of Mum and Dad was a good thing.

The £50 added to the savings today seems rather irrelevant considering the above but it's better than nothing. Closer to sorting the house, kind of means closer to the E, doesn't it? Keeping to the savings / financial theme, I don't understand how people have NSDs? I managed a few during my debt free days but found even then it's usually the case that money needs spending on petrol and food.

On another note, this time next month we will have a dog as well as four Land Rovers counting a borrowed one and one on order, at least I'm living that dream. ;) :rotfl:

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.

I took it that maman was referring to something stronger but still sounding like snobs, not as any slight against you - I thought she might have meant kn0bs :D

That's the whole point of having savings! So you can pay for what needs doing, when it needs doing. Part of being an adult, I'm afraid...

Better than going back into debt to pay for new roof? Absolutely.

Organisation is key to NSDs; I rarely spend during the week as I have bought everything I need to, such as food and petrol at the weekend when I do our weekly shop. It also takes practice, so don't be too worried about it :) so long as you're not spending £100s every day....

So long as you share a picture of your dog when he/she arrives, then that's fine :D
