I seem to remember Gallygirl once accidentally bought a house, so a car isn't too bad in the overall scheme of things ;)

Sheep, cows, goats, pigs or chickens??

:rotfl: Not bought an accidental house, yet.

I'm currently doing my research about livestock, so haven't made my mind up yet. Cousin has everything but goats (as well as far too many horses but that's excusable as that's how she makes a living), farmer next door has pigs, so we already get some very nice pork / ham / bacon from him. I can't say I fancy goat proofing, they'll practically get through anything, won't they? So that leaves sheep, cows and chickens.

Likely not going to be this year, though as we're going to settle the dog in first and I've volunteered to help cousin with lambing next year, so we'll wait and see how I feel about it after that. I do know Mrs. K. won't get involved with doing much other than occasionally feeding, though. :rotfl:

    Dear Diary,

Not sure that I dare update this as I've gone and bought another car. :o To be honest, it was a bit of an accident, well as accidental as a car purchase gets and I've not spent any time whatsoever on trying to make some money for the savings over this weekend. However, we've had fun ... far too much fun and consequently spent far too much money. :o

 That's dreadful Alex, how could you accidentally by a car .

I wasn't looking for (another) Land Rover but one came up at the right price and the next thing I knew I'd given the man a deposit. ;) I'll have a play with it for a couple of months and move it on.

You'll be pleased to know I've been a very good boy today (even got a nice surprise from Mrs K as a result) and got on with my work and have made some money from the business. :D:D:D No cars bought, 2 delicious (if I may say so myself) homemade cakes made with my son and a nice homemade salmon en croute, as well as some money made from the business and some music teaching done.

Is that how we judge a successful day now :rotfl:.

Sounds like a great day. Glad Mrs K appreciated your efforts :D.

and I've ended up buying the books for the pupils

Whenever you think you're a bad person for whatever reason, remember you did this. What a wonderful thing to do for them :)

(I can forgive you the car - right thing, right price, right time. It's a big slip, but also the first I've seen in a long time!)

Regarding the conversation with someone you knew, I'm beginning to understand where some of your viewpoints have come from, even if I disagree with the viewpoints themselves. However, I think you have come far since you were around this toxicity day-to-day :)

Little K seems to be growing up into an absolute sweetie :) and that shows how good a dad you are!

It is a slip if you're trying to spend no money at all. BUT if Alex plays with it through the summer and then sells it on it can be forgiven. Adding it to his portfolio of cars isn't an option!:)

No cars bought, I call that a financially successful day. :D On the subject of financial success, after a few awful months for the business I'm making money again. Pleased is not the word. :)

Mrs K can appreciate my efforts every day of the week. ;):D  :rotfl:

    Thank you, HBS.

I just want pupils to do well, have a good education and remember their school days for the right reasons. :)

The car will be sold (hopefully for a profit), so I don't suppose it's too bad. Even if it just pays for itself (insurance, any parts etc.), that's OK.

Unfortunately I spent too many of my younger years socialising with conceited snobs (could say something a bit stronger but won't). I'll admit I was just as bad and likely still would be had things turned out the way I wanted them to at the time. Everyday I feel guilty about how I treated others in the past.

Hopefully by doing my best as a father, my son won't turn out to be like me, though. :)

That's exactly what I'm planning to do, maman. :) However, there is a car being added to the 'fleet' at the end of this year, though I'm not paying for it. :D
