Been thinking about this quite a lot today and come to the conclusion (OK with my wife) that Mrs K and I do what's right for us and our situation. My thoughts yesterday had been prompted by somebody (I've known for a very long time) asking me what sort of example I was setting for my son and that I should be ashamed. The reality is, I think I need those type of people out of my life because they are doing my mental health no good and once I take what I see as my obligations out of my mind, I am pleased things have worked out the way they have.
To bring this back to relevance, less time thinking about things like this will likely bring more £££.
Definitely get someone like that out of your life! What century are they living in? And what business is it of theirs?
I think you and MrsK are setting your son a fine example. It's great that he sees both mummy and daddy working. He's probably more aware of your work with the furniture and music lessons although I'm sure he sees it as fun!0 -
Blimey that "friend" sounds like an @rse!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

I would have considered punching them on the nose.0

Thanks, maman.
My son really likes helping me with work, often it seems his only ambition is to drive the Land Rover when he's older. :rotfl: Soon, he's going to realise there's a whole world out there and I suppose a part of me will miss him being so enthusiastic about such simple ideas.Blimey that "friend" sounds like an @rse!Time to 'unknow' them then . What a knob .
NG / GG: Most of the people I spent my formative years around are like this. These days I can't say I really have much to do with those from school / uni / my 20s anymore, though. Probably with good reason.
Sadly, these days I can count the number of friends I have on one hand and 2 are my cousin and her husband.2018 totals:

Totally agree - ditch the friend. Better to have no friends than a twit like that!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Then you must have gone to the wrong school!!:rotfl:
Erm, thanks for that, maman.Totally agree - ditch the friend. Better to have no friends than a twit like that!
Can't say I consider him a 'friend', or haven't done so for a few years.2018 totals:

Dear Diary,
Not sure that I dare update this as I've gone and bought another car.To be honest, it was a bit of an accident, well as accidental as a car purchase gets and I've not spent any time whatsoever on trying to make some money for the savings over this weekend. However, we've had fun ... far too much fun and consequently spent far too much money.
The coming week is going to be a more frugal affair with no pub meals (third in three days today), no accidental car purchases and some work on trying to get closer to me savings target. My son now knows we're having a dog and I seem to be getting far too interested in the potential keeping of livestock, it seems my son is having far too much of an influence over me at the moment.
Yours Faithfully,
Alex.2018 totals:
