QED
Would you trust your data to be backed up to a single pen drive? Maybe you would, but a sensible person wouldn't.0 -
BUT , the op will have there data on TWO computers AND a USB stick , this is better than most people have
however we are straying from the OPs question ,
I can,t see the sentence "where should I keep my backup" or "whats the best backup medium"
the OP simply asked what was the correct size of pendrive to buy, they were informed how to check the size of the files , THEN they could choose the size.0 -
Seeing as most people store documents in the standard user folder. Just open C:\ drive, right click on either "documents and settings" (winXP) or "Users" (Win7+), select properties and wait for it to tell you how much data there is.
USB flash drives are cheap upto around 64GB, external HDD are cheap up until over 1TB.
So i'd go with either a 64GB flash (under £20) or a 1TB HDD (under £45), depending on what you think your future needs will be.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
