I loved Nashville! What month will you go and it could get too hot during the summer.

Great to hear it, we're not going until October so no problem with hot weather (we were in Cambodia last December - 33 degrees most days and humid - will avoid doing that again! )0 -

I would strongly advise having a good play with Google Maps to test distances and just normal searches around "what to see between ..." etc.0 -
Absolutely, it's a wonderfully useful resource. So of course I couldn't resist...PeacefulWaters wrote: »I would strongly advise having a good play with Google Maps

If you need to end up back in Nashville then you could perhaps use part of the Natchez Trace Parkway for the return journey northbound from Jackson (Mississippi) to Nashville:

Had no idea you could do this.... sounds fun! Will have a look over the weekend, thanks.0

I was in Nashville last year for a few days. I would recommend a stay at the Gaylord Opryland Resort next to the Grand Ole Opry.
We also went to Memphis. Graceland and Sun Studios are musts for music fans. If you drive to New Orleans you can go through Tupelo, Mississippi (Elvis' birthplace).
I drove up from Southern Alabama to Nashville. It was one long Interstate of trees for 8 hours! Hopefully your NY to Nashville is a bit more scenic and varied.0 -
