Didnt think you would be ixwood, let me break it down for you then.
    1, My wage
    2, The tax mans wage
    3, Diesel
    4, Road tax
5, wear and tear on the van
6, And not forgeting the materials

Add that lot up and then tell me its expensive and my wage is too high.Really grips my !!!! when people tell you "oh no your too expensive" If they think im going to lower my prices just to save them money THEN THEY CAN JOG ON. I got a morgage to pay and 3 kids to feed.
If they want a cheap job done theres plenty of cowboys around, quite willing to take their money. But dont call me when its gone tits up.
    Sorry,rants over now.

Jase your quote is spot on, by the way anyone that talks about artexing carry on its the main source of our work skimming over old artexing.

It's about money saving for us all. I won't pay that much for a tradesman, unless I really have too.

I have a half decent job earning close to 35k. Still, £250 is probably over 2 days work for me. It would grieve me to work for 2 days, to pay you to work for 1. Despite what costs you have to pay. We all have them. Hence why my money is important to me too.

As it happens, I boarded 2 ceilings with my dad and my mate skimmed them. Much better option for me.

Just providing the option to others on this money saving forum.

Oh, and when I go to work, I too have to pay diesel, road tax, wear and tear etc. As well as income tax (and all the others!). That comes out of my wages obviously.

to give an idea of cost, plasterer charged me 650 quid, to skim a very large lounge room inc the ceiling. also to p/board the chimney breast, and 1 extra small kitchen wall, (just skimmed it).
