Return request?

Hi guys and gals,
Just after a bit of advice. I sold an item and buyer would like to return and opened a return via ebay. Tomorrow the date for which the buyer needs to return is up and still nothing, not even showing as dispatched.
My question is this, what happens next? Do I get to close the return as their time is up? Can they still force a return after tomorrow?
I've done a few returns before but never had this crop up and a quick search of the forums throws nothing up.

Yes they can still return after tomorrow, my last one didn't time out for 70 days.

Ouch!! that must have sucked.
So are saying I won't get an option to close the return after tomorrow and it'll remain open until they either get around to sending it or it times out?

The best thing to do is nothing, unless it's a time sensitive item.
Chances are the buyer decided against returning. If it does turn up, then refund.
The buyer would need to prove it had been delivered if they ever claim to have returned it.

No, you won't get an option to close it. If you try CS they will tell you to escalate it, what they won't tell you is the buyer will then be refunded and you will get a strike.

Just leave it.

I'm guessing that their payment in paypal will stay on hold too until it times out?

Can I just ask I have requested a return but the seller has not yet responded do I have to wait for them to respond or can I just return it ?

How long is it since you requested the return?

Does the seller accept returns and have you done it via Ebay managed returns or just buy messaging the seller?

requested returns via ebay doesn't matter if they do or don't accept returns its not as described.
