Bedford Train Station PCN

Hi,

I just wondered if anyone had gone through the appeals process for a ticket at Bedford Train Station? I got a ticket the other day and am considering appealing but am a little nervous about it being refused and ending up with paying out more!! (Can you tell I've never had a ticket before!!?)

I had read lots of the amazing advice on here - thank you to everyone who has taken time out to write this for everyone - but was just curious if anyone else had been successful at the same site?

Many thanks

Hi, I have just tried a quick search for current threads re Bedford Station with out any luck .....

please note that there may well be ....

Unless you want to pay the invoice now they will keep racking up the £££ to try and scare you ....

doing appeals will not cost you money , it does cost the PPC :T and the appeals are not binding on you.

You do appear to be on the right lines ... no 'fine ' word any where .... or was that just good luck ;)

please have a read through the 'newbie' thread as that will help simplify what needs to be said and done

without giving personal details what happened and who is the PPC?

Haha, no I've been doing my reading so deliberately no 'fine' word used!
The company is Apcoa....... I stupidly risked parking when the car park was full in an undesignated space - although not blocking anyone, although from what I understand the reason appears not to affect whether the ticket will be revoked or not. If it was £30 I'd probably be more likely to pay up but £50 if I pay in 14 days is excessive! (£85 after 14 days)
Can I just confirm I should also complain to the people who run the car park - East Midlands Trains? But do I wait to complain to them also until I receive the Ntk?

Apcoa are part of thr BPA and as such you get to appeal to POPLA when they refuse your first appeal

this is good news as if done with the forum template / guides you will win.

I will stand to be corrected but AFAIK Apcoa do not do court ..........

Did you actually pay for a parking ticket?

As for the complaints do them while you are waiting for the NTK and consider adding the DVLA ( for giving out your details when they should not have) your MP, and maybe the local papers ?

Thank you, I will write to East Midlands and complain. I have not had the Ntk through yet so whilst I am assuming DVLA will give out my details they have not as yet! Didn't realise they were not allowed! (Obviously missed this bit in the explanantions) but will consider writing to them after I receive the Ntk.

I did pay for a ticket although on my return, as you can pay anytime at Bedford - it is monitored by ANPR cameras and therefore as long as you pay before leaving its fine.

Many thanks for your help - I will keep this post up to date!

Does the ticket mention Railway bylaws?

Most rail stations are covered by bye laws (if not all)

for more normal car park traps ..... this means that car park mismanager's will apply under POFA 2012 for your details

Under POFA 2012 the registered keeper has a stronger set of appeal grounds than a driver. And we advise as such .....

however if a PCN does not have the wording from Schedule 4 or if it's a 'byelaws' car park (e.g. Railway, Port, Quay, Airport) then the PPC can only pursue the driver, so by appealing as the keeper you keep that information anonymous.

    if that makes sense ?

Ah ok, definitely nothing about bylaws - it only says the keeper will be asked to provide the drivers details so payment may be pursued. If 28 days after notice is given to the owner and the name / address of the driver is not known APCOA have the right to pursue the registered keeper for unpaid charges (Its a bit longer than that, but that is essentially what it says!).

As per advise I will not acknowledge who the driver was anyway.
