Good luck Lizards. I hope you don't have to wait too long after valuation. Our valuation was done exactly a week ago on the 17th March. The valuation was good and came in at the right price. We have now had a couple of delays- 1st was an 'error that needed to be corrected' so went to an underwriter last Friday and today they contacted me asking for reason for remortgage(debt consol/ home improvements) clarification. In fairness the lady at Natwest was very reassuring and said an offer would be made within 48 hours- it is just stressful waiting for it to come through- in the end- you don't have a guaranteed mortgage until the document actually arrives in your letterbox! Really need this offer through before Easter hols.

We've been told it should be shortly after valuation but of course being told one thing and what actually happens is another matter as you're experiencing by the sounds of things! I hope you get your nice letter soon. Until we exchange there is no champagne being cracked around these parts, but I do feel a huge amount of relief!

NatWest did THREE soft searches of my Equifax credit file on Monday, to add the the two soft and one hard search they'd already done. Do they not have a "save" button on their computer?

Still waiting to hear about when the valuation is going to happen but obviously it's early days!

Good luck getting your letter in the post c.redfern!

I don't know what they've done on my husband's account. I'd have thought they'd have been more interested in him anyway as he's the one with the income. Half expecting more searches on mine over the coming weeks even though we're apparently "approved" subject to survey now! They just like my credit record I guess. Perhaps it's a particularly nice one or something..!!

Oh well, they can do whatever they want to it so long as we end up completing on this house!

Wahooo! Just had verbal confirmation that our offer has been issued for full 225k we were looking for with no retention(we were worried as previous application with virgin money fell through due to a retention issue)and is in 1st class post. So all in all 3 weeks and 1 day from application to issue of offer. Looking back- doesnt seem as long as it felt. Good luck all - I hope you don't have to wait much longer.

I had a mortgage offer from Natwest which had to be redone as original house purchase fell through. Been waiting 2 weeks for an answer, been told last Wednesday, then last Friday, then this Monday, then close of business yesterday. Today, still nothing!

Stressing me no end as seller won't take property off market until proof of mortgage offer is provided.

Has been checking the forum & this post since we applied to Natwest. FTB, employed, joint application, 57% LTV, applied nearly 4.5 times of family income including all benefits. No broker, direct to Natwest. Our timeline,

16th March applied at local branch 3 hours interview, told to submit all banks accounts online statement the next day as we had only 2 months.

17th March submitted all accounts 3 months statements, received a call from Natwest mortgage advisor to submit a letter confirming the latest personal loan paid off, call the bank, told it will take 5 working days.

21st March received the personal loan letter

23rd March handed the letter, valuation day as bank told

25th March today around 6 pm received the good news, mortgage offered, letter on the way in 3 working days.

28th March mortgage offer letter received

I will edit/update as soon as I know further. Congratulations who received offer already and good luck to all who are waiting.

BTW not celebrating now, it will be after the completion.
  • My buyer I setting a buy to let mortgage through natWest and they have been shocking! There was an admin issue on our buyers credit report which was all. Evidenced by her broker and corrected so to be fair that took around 10 days. But they took 4.5 weeks before instructing valuation (last thurs) and the valuation still hasn't been booked in!! Really furious with NatWest as they are holding up our entire process- the solicitors have completed everything else- we are just awaiting natwest mortgage. It's been 5.5 week so far...grrrrr
