(tho to be fair, I didn't want someones old fridge with dirty seals :o)

    Two words: antibacterial spray!

  • I have to admit, I went the gumtree route because I hope to renovate and refurbish in the near future.

:rotfl:...yep I should add I had just moved from a rented flat with a 20+year old fridge, so I guess my experience is making me slightly biased here.

I think I'm bit of a brand snob.

I do like new appliances despite buying clothes and other stuff used from eBay.

Vacuum will be a dyson. TV Samsung.

So what are good quality and reasonable priced brands for standalone cookers, washers and fridge freezers, buying new?

I'm sure Bosch came top in WHICH for washers

A Meile washer would beat Bosch every time ;) anyway gas or electric cooker, what size too as many of the better options don't do the 60cm range, if 60cm and gas, I would say Cannon/Hotpoint, if electric more choice, Smeg, Electrolux, Zanussi Hotpoint.

Fridges are simple so paying loads doesn't get you much more, start with Miele and work down to a price point you want to pay.

Seen a nice cheap Lec fridge freezer on ao for 180 and nice smart black Samsung microwave for 70. Not going to lose sleep over a slightly more expensive microwave

cooker is gas. I need to get dimensions of existing space.
Only issue is that there will or may be a slightly unsightly gap between the cooker and one of the neighbouring storage cupboards :rotfl:

Miele are £££ for washers. Zanussi seem cheaper and higher spins than Bosch. ..so that's leading contender there!

If Gas 60cm, then this is, in my opinion, the only option...

Clearly not a brand snob then

Go see them, you'll soon change your mind...I didn't say there weren't cheaper options, the quality of a cheap cooker is crap, buy any of those you'll be thankful for that large gap at the side of the cooker, to stop your cabinets burning ;)

Snob with vacuum tv and microwave

    Need to compromise elsewhere ;)

Bit concerned about my cheap cooker now! Guess I could stretch passed 200 a bit but definitely no where near 500 plus. .
