Meole brace parking

So to sum up my troubles, basically me nor the missus are interested in football. I have received a Parking charge notice that was attached to my windscreen for being over the allotted time frame for a match day(1 hour 30 minutes).
Not anywhere on the sign does it physically say today is a match day so how am I meant to know when I don't follow football. I have three receipts from shops I have entered to purchase things from stating clearly that I am not attending the football match an just aimlessly using the site as a car park for cheaper parking.
Now the only reason I am posting this is due to the last post about Shrewsbury meole brace was a year ago and I am just after up to date information.
I have received nothing through the door letter wise as it has only just happened today. After having a quick search and reading some of the information previously given it says wait until the 21 day mark and then appeal as "the keeper" is this still correct? Also the ticket states I need to use my name and address, surly I don't want to give this information out at the drop of a hat as then they can gain access to my details via the DVLA?
I'm after any help in trying to appeal this parking charge. mainly due to the fact I think I shouldn't get punished for not following a sport where people kick a ball around and get paid to much money. However there was no sign stating today was a match day just "no parking beyond 90 minutes on a match day"
I questioned the parking attendant who gave me the ticket and he said its a common occurrence and they don't deal with putting up signs to say that its a match day. I also had a gentleman come over and say that I don't have to pay it as he and his wife work in legal and its a civil offence not authority.
So any help is much appreciated.
Company in question is UKPC

who is the parking company involved0

You need to start by reading the Newbies Sticky carefully. It outlines the situation and up to date advice on the steps needed to deal with them.
Last time Meole Brace graced this forum it was UKPC issuing the tickets.0 -
Yes apologies it is UKPC I have updated the original post.
I have had a look at the newbies sticky thread, however it is extremely confusing when both myself and the missus had a look at it. The information I gathered from it was wait till 21 days then make and appeal using the template given. Then await the NTK letter, if it doesn't arrive after 57 days its void?0 -
Yes - that's about it. There is no point in giving them your details for free and losing one of the best chances for them mess it up of their own accord. It may take a few reads before things begin to straighten-out but everything you need to get shot of this is there.
Of course in the meantime, there is nothing to stop you raising hell with the shop/retail park owners and maybe even the football club - a quick look at the transport plan page on their website makes interesting reading - esp as match day signage is an issue that has raised its head before!0 -
Okay that's great. I'll await the NTK letter for 21 days and if it doesn't arrive I'll appeal but not giving any personal information and state that I am the keeper not the driver, hoping the appeal will be successful.0

This will make the regulars laugh. Meole Brace is owned by Capita.0

Also the company in question is defiantly UKPC0 -
The signs there definatly say Capita. It's all academic though and purely posted for amusement.0

NO. You don't appeal until you've received the NtK. The 'early 21 days appeal' advice is for a very limited number of PPCs, of which UKPC is not one.
WAIT for that NTK - which you won't get until at least day 29 after the parking event; it must be served to you by day 56.
So that gives you at least a month, possibly two months to read and understand fully what is contained in the NEWBIES sticky.
It's a small wonder you found it 'extremely confusing' - your initial post was at 5:20, your post following reading the NEWBIES sticky was at 5:34 - just 14 minutes later! You need to spend much more time on it than that.
This can be a complicated business, but armed with knowledge it can be a very easy business. But you must put in some of the work. There's no instant answer/silver bullet - sorry. We will help guide you through it, but you must help yourself for a lot of this journey. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
