  • Had a fantabulous time out shopping yesterday!

Visited 4 different establishments and managed to do a total of 14 shops in all

I had 14 successes too which I am chuffed about and it was all down to choosing the right sa ;)

I have been choosing the young girls lately but changed tack yesterday and chose the boys instead, good move on my part as each and every one of them took all my Hb and moc's without question :T

One young lad got my £20 bill down to 20p and I said I had another 20p coupon in my bag and he wanted me to use it.
I refused as I thought that would really be taking the P but he was egging me on!

I am a bit fed up with the healthcare offers though as they seem a bit rubbish at the moment.

However, I have been getting the following for very little:

    6 x Slimfast cereal bars at £2.94 = 17.94
    4x over 50's vitamins at £3.87 = 15.48

Total to pay after bogof has come off is : £16.71

use 4 x £2 off healthcare (from Quit kits)

8x £1 off healthcare (from Health and Beauty leaflets) which leaves only 71p to pay :)

Plax coupons still working in multiples......14 coupons on 14Plax today no problems, in fact 4 x£2.50's and lots of £1's as well, to bring other shopping down to pennies.

Ragtimeplayer... Great shops & did you use the 20p or not?.. those 0p transactions are great.. Not acheived one for a few weeks but I've still been shopping for pennies... Also totally forgot about Healthcare as been so wrapped up in beauty so thanks for the reminder.. kids love the slimfast bars...

Well it's finally happened... I went to my coupon basket & all my qp's were gone.. Positive I had a few left at least.. Too much shopping I guess.. Tried swapping my 400 x 50 pts on PTS for them or SB's but with no success... Determined not to be defeated I'll be doing this no QP combo for a while...

    8 x Lynx Body Spray @ £2.48 = £19.84 (2 for £3.00)
    4 x Plax @ £2.86 = £11.44 (BOGOF)
    1 x value tpaste = 0.21p
    Total = £31.49
    Deductions = £13.56

    Total to pay = £17.93

    Use...
    4 x £1.00 plax, 3 x £2.50h&b, 6 x £1.00h&b, 1 x 40p colgate = 3p...

I'm aware I can use 1 more £1.00 but going easy on my coupons at the moment...

No, I chickened out :o the young lad was loving it though and was very eager for me to get my entire shop for free but it felt wrong somehow!

I did get the 14 shops yesterday for less than 2 pound though so quite pleased at that :p

I normally set off with about £20 in cash plus some small change, just as a precaution in case it goes wrong but I have no intention of using it! its kind of like a victory thing when I can come home with a hundred bags and yet still have the £20 note tucked in my purse :p

My first 4 shops at one store came to 20p, 5p, 14p and 15p. It carried on like this for the rest of the day and in the end, cost less than £2 for the whole 14 shops, if hubby hadn't flagged, I would have done even more but he doesn't have my stamina :rotfl:

I remember from the last coupons, I had loads of healthcare ones left over so am trying to make an effort to use them up. After a walk round the local carboot this morning, I called in at Mr T and got 24 slimfast cereal boxes and 16 over 50's vitamins, still got far too many Hc left though.

No idea what they taste like but will find out later as have got a box at the side of the computer for when I feel peckish :)

    Happy shopping people!

  • I wanted to pick peoples brains on here as to the best time/days to go shopping.
I try to go every day, and do at least 2 shops but on the quieter days, it can be quite stressful and hard to do without being "seen".

I normally try and go about 6pm but this is a bit hit and miss for me, sometimes my fav sa's are on and sometimes its the over 50's ladies who aren't so accomodating and are definite "shopping envy" people.

On a weekend, it doesn't seem to matter what time you go and this is when I have my greatest successes.
I was going to try just going on the weekends and possibly thursday and friday nights but don't think I could manage to stay away that long!

What days/times do you find the easiest with the best chance of success?

  • I know with sainsbury's the younger generation work 4-6pm weekdays and Most of the day saturday's (until 7pm).

Maybe tesco is also like this.
  • Ive mastered a 20 pound shop, but i never use the HC. What amount are people generally spending on HC?

I was thinking a 20 H&B and 8 pound HC (before BOGOF) Aiming to buy:-

    8 x lynx
    2 x Aquafresh
2 x IL bubble bath and
    2 x Slim fast.

I figure that 12 H&B items for 10.64 would give greater value for money at a car boot.
