Someone mentioned a Insect repellant stick from Tescos.
I saw it today but wonder what it comes under ,healthcare or toiletries and can I use coupons on it.

Insect repellant spray is definately classed as toiletries so you can use the quit £1.25 etc.
I've not bought the stick, but if it is found by the sun lotions in your store then Im pretty sure it'll be toiletries too.

  • Bit confused about my HB shop today. I bought the following things;

    2 lynx showergel £3.64
    2 sunsilk £3.54
    2 tesco toothpaste £3.98
    3 value sponges £0.51
    2 value showergel £0.26
    1 value toothpaste £0.21
    Total before bogof £12.14
    Total after bogof £6.56

    The SA scanned these vouchers;

    1x£2.50 HB accepted
3X£1 HB only 2 accepted by till
2x£1.25 QK only 1 accepted by till
2x70p palmolive SB only 1 accepted by till
1x40p colgate QK not accepted by till

Can anyone let me know why these were not all taken? - the SA did scan them and I thought that I'd spent what I should have. Only had to pay 11p :T but was looking forward to extra money off the rest of my shopping!

Has anyone had the DM book token accepted in Tesco's? It was not taken by my local store, although SA did try to scan it and typed in barcode, as I don't think they sell the book - never mind

This is my first post, so please be kind :o

Welcome to Mse Happy welsh shopper and particuarly, to the Tesco forums :)

I have no idea why your coupons didn't scan as I would ahve thought they would have done with what you said you bought.

I would have expected you to be able to use 2 x £1.25 and 2 of the shower gel and toothpaste coupons also. Are you certain she tried to scan them as some of the sa's pretend to scan them as they feel its wrong to put through so many but don't like to say that to you. They then pretend to scan them as an easy way out of it, in case they get into trouble later on for accepting too many.

I would try it again with a different sa and see how you get on :)

  • Once again I have had a marvellous shop (s) and am buzzing with excitement at what I managed to buy :D

I do normally do well anyway while out at Tesco's as most of you know but tonight was exceptional!

Oh and before I forget, Typhoo tea is on bogof for the 160 pack at £2.38, but! there is a £1 off your next pack on the side of the bag so actual cost is just 38p for 320 teabags!

I went to my normal Tesco and there seemed to be loads of bogof offers that I hadn't spotted previously so I took full advantage :)

I ended up with 10 boxes of Finish Quantam dishwasher tablets which are £3 something each on bogof.

8 packs of 160 Typhoo teabags with a £1 off coupon on the side for £2.38 each, also bogof.

12 packs of Tuc biscuits at 58p each on bogof.

4 packs of Cadburys fingers at £1 each, bogof.

I got loads more stuff including 6 sets of Hb and 6 sets of Hc plus tons of normal shopping, including about 15 10p items out of the reduced fridge, my children will love me as he was selling the 6 pack Muller corners off for 10p along with loads of pizzas etc, I had about 15 bags!

Too embarassed to say how little it cost but I am still smiling 4 hours later :rotfl:

I even took a photo of it all when I got back home as I couldn't believe what I ended up with, I can look back on it later on in life with a wry smile, if this ever ends ;)

And I thought I was good getting my bill down from £64 to £38!!! Well done Ragtimeplayer. To HAPPYWELSHSHOPPER I used the DM coupon tonight, and I,m a bit of a nervous nelly, getting over it now though, have even roped in my mate Brian, who has a natural hangdog expression, to get involved. Send him to till with big bundle of coupons with the story of how he,s been sent by wife with these and doesnt know if he,s got the right things on his shopping list, and how he,ll never hear the end of it. They took everything I gave him, shocking aint I lol

On the rare occasion I've managed to persuade my oh to do a sperate shop, I just tell him to go to a girl and they will take pity on him, thinking he is some clueless bloke sent out by his wife, and that he'll get into trouble if he gets it wrong. Of course he wouldn't.. or would he? :rotfl:

  • Thanks for your advice Ragtimeplayer. I think he did scan all the coupons - well appeared to anyway. He even tried them again when he said they wouldn't accept them. I thought Mr T might have had a crackdown on the number of the same type of vouchers accepted. I won't let it put me off though - I've become a bit obsessed about it now

I doubt mr T has done anything as mine scanned perfectly last night, I used numerous multiples of the £1.25 quits and £1 HB coupons and all went through :)
