I went into my local today and got my usual £30 odd of shopping including 2 bottles of Plax, i always keep it low key, never go over the top, i`m happy with a couple at each shop. I handed over a 1.25 quit and two Plax 1.00 coupons, "you can only use one of these" says the assistant, "we have been told today that someone is coming in and uses loads of coupons against loads of Plax and as they are on BOGOF they are getting it for almost nothing, so we have been told to only take one coupon for every two bottles" she added "the person doing it has drawn it to our attention so we have to put a stop to it"
So thats it with the free Plax then in that store, it had to happen, greed always spoils it in the end. I realise they are due to go half price on Monday but i think they will still be checking how many coupons are being used now it has been highlighted to them.If people kept low profile instead of going OTT this would not happen. It is bound to come to an end at some point what with huge stacks of coupons/leaflets being taken in one go and then loads of coupons being used in single shops.

Managed to get some leaflets today

Got 6 bottles of Plax and 2 bottles of Pamolive Handwash (they had sold out of the face-wipes)

Had to use the calculator on my mobile to check it was over £10

Found the only male check-out assistant, was a bit worried as he had a I'm training badge on

Handed him

6 Plax

1 £10 H&B

2 £4 H&B

without even looking at them he just turned them over and scanned them all

when i got out of the store he had mis-scanned them though

all the Plax went through OK

but rather than the 2 £1 ones he had scanned the £2.50 one twice (which i thought would have got rejected straight away by the till)

ended up only paying £0.81 on a 300g jar of Tesco coffee and bag of value cornflakes (still don't feel comfortable buying the more expensive brands even though it would now be affordable too)

will try another shop tomorrow to get rid of the two Plax coupons, before Monday

Word of caution, there is a new Plax (whitening,stain removal) white bottle ,but only 500ml,these dont get the coupons accepted on them,only the original 600ml ones,carefull as they are all together at our Tesco.

Benedictadams.... You had acually spent over £20.00's that's why 2 x £2.50's were accepted... You could have used 5 x £1.00 h&b aswell.

went to 3 stores today and not a single HB in sight (imagine a tear running down my cheek now)

i haven't bought any plax yet as there is no quit no HB found. i have lots of the plax ones but not the 1.25 ones. it is just doesn't feel right to pay towards toiletries.

felt a bit disheartened but did a mini shop in the last store, spotted a happy scanner whom i haven't seen for months, but as soon as i put stuffs on belt, i can sense his unease so chat a bit but received cold response. sensed the signal so showed him i bought 2 shredded wheat and asked politely if i can use 2 shredded wheat coupons from t mag, he said he could only take one, fine, then asked gently if it is possible to use just one or two more other moc, one more he said, so gave him the highest value i could find in purse, just a pound or so. shame... lost another happy scanner. it was not too bad as it was only a small shop, paid half of a £3ish mini food shop, can't really complaint.

All the Plax had gone from my local store when I went in this afternoon & when I asked a shel stacker if they'd anymore out the back,the response was no !!! (They must have some christ !!!???)
They've only had a few on display since it came onto BOGOF,I've had to get them on my way into work first thing..

NO H&B either,but then again they always seem to have them after all the other stores..I'll keep checking tho'..

Yeah I had same problem....took coupons for plax and there was none. Had to think how i was going to use the coupons i had for lynx! Is it just me...When the offers change and two weeks off couponing, it take time to get back into it??

I was offered one of the out of stock vouchers (not sure what they are called) Has anyone used these with their H&B shop? What do they look like? Is it likely to confuse the sa??

I went on the search for Hb today after having a rest from Tesco for a few days.(feels like weeks though)
Called into Rotherham and the Pharmacy lady said they were waiting for them to come in so no Hb for me there

I still had a brilliant shop in there though which was surprising as the last time I shopped there, I had to pay almost full price due to their non acceptance of moc's.
I found a lovely young lad who took everything I gave him and best of all, managed to get rid of £40 worth of just out of date moc's that a more picky sa wouldn't have taken. Tesco still have weeks and weeks to redeem them so no harm done

I also called at another Tesco in that area and managed to get 25 Hb, what a wonderful feeling when you see the little red leaflets!

The pharmacy were guarding them like they were precious jewels (some would say they were more precious) so I asked if I could have a few for my friends and relatives, he said how many were you thinking of (wanted to say 50 lol!) I said 10 but he would only give me 5, better than nothing though!
Went to the tills with my Plax and lo and behold at the end of the tills, Hb everywhere!

Hubby was very good and went from till to till taking a few here and there and even asked the CS lady if he could take some from her pile (trained! ) so that was a success.

Don't feel as if I can go mad with them though as I am sure they will soon disappear. I have about 50ish Quits and now 25 Hb to add to those so enough for now.

One thing I am mad about though, I have probably thrown at least 300 Plax vouchers away over the last few months as had no reason to keep them

I kept 20 from my last set of Quits just in case they ever went on bogof, and they did...typical!

I am off to another "T" tomorrow that had Hb in last time, fingers crossed

OMG... Had the dreaded come to my till tonight, just as i'd selected a coupon friendly sa! And the sa was no other than the actual checkout Manager (very fit).

Now instead of making an excuse Id thought I'd try her (as i only had a small shop). I'd brought lynx (due to no plax) and she scanned 1 x 2.50, 1 x 1.25 and 2 x 1.00. Result! She did question the 1 pound uns, as i had not brought the item, but i had and she accepted them.

Id thought id be brave and ask her coupon policy for non-Tesco coupons (unsure, as wanted to keep low profile), The reply was 'it varies on the shop'
So i think this means they are quite coupon friendly Yipee!!!!
