My husband asked if we could talk somewhere private as I was crying (feel stupid now) but we were treated like criminals. About two years ago I tryed to use some h&b and was told I couldn't so I left it without paying but I wasn't abusive. They said yesterday that I was told I was banned then - I wasn't. My husband said he thought he would have remembered if I had come home and said I was banned! We certainly wouldn't have gone shopping there. A very strong letter is being written - have to find out where to send it. I call it bullying.

    oh dear, *cyber hug*

there are thousands of faces going in and out store everyday, even staffs will change job, and they remember u for two years! it seems u have been targeted by jobworth(s). did they tell u in public that u r going to be banned for life in their store? that was inappropriate as the case should be treated as confidential, not public humiliation.

did u have argument with supervisors?

if using 6 x 40p coupons is enough for a lifetime ban, most of us here will be shopping somewhere else.

Thank you for my cyber hug. Yes, it was in public. I didn't make a fuss when they refused the coupons. I was told at the till that they could only take one coupon per transaction even though I bought the toothpaste. They said that I had been told about this before. The woman was very aggressive. They walked away and I told the boy who was obviously new that I was sorry to cause such a bother and that I thought it was odd that Tesco's have a promotion and then don't let you use it and then I said sorry to the lady behind me. The security guard didn't have a uniform on - I thought he was a manager. We have all their names so I will be reporting them. I think it is because I am involved in local politics and I have spoken out about a certain business that uses carnival club members as stewards and I know a lot of their staff belong to the carnival club.

Sounds like you did nothing wrong at all Crimsonmaj! Hope you feel better after sleeping on it, Tesco are just not worth the worry and upset. They deserve a stroppy letter though, send it to Sir Terry Leahy, the top man, I think you may have to use the Cheshunt address for him (look on the Tesco website, I think it is on there or maybe someone here will post it).

Out of interest, were your toothpastes Colgate or were they another make? If you were buying 6 Colgates and using 6 coupons the store has got the policy very wrong surely, and your treatment was absolutely atrocious! Also how come they apologised in the end, did they realise how stupid it all was?

Sadly there are a few Tesco stores that seem to hate customers, they have a bad vibe the minute you walk in and the CS desks are manned by little Hitlers. These stores seem to hate customers with coupons especially - I have such a store within driving distance but I just don't drive there now. Never been banned or anything, just got fed up of hearing too many lies at the tills as to why I couldn't use this or that legitimate coupon, and even being criticised for using one Huggies Wipes Coupon because my OH had just used one too on his shopping! Other stores are coupon-friendly, so shop elsewhere!

Sending you hugs from all of us couponers on MSE to make you smile again.:kisses:

  • Thanks Coupon-mad. All coupons were QK Colgate as was toothpaste. They didn't back down because they realised they were wrong - only when I told them my husband's job. I wasn't abusive at all but I think they wished I was. They just wanted a fightl, I think.

How awful for you Crimson....I'd have been in bits too! Here's the addy and a map for Tesco Head Office in case you feel like going in person and telling them what you think of their manners! :D

    Tesco Stores Ltd,
New Tesco House, Delamare Road, Cheshunt, Herts, EN8 9SL
    Tel: 01992 632222

  • Shopped here at the weekend at Tescos Cable Retail Park, Prescot.
Bought 1 Blue Loaded Shower Gel and 1 Yellow Loaded Shower Gel (BOGOF)
1 Blue Loaded Deoderant and 1 Yellow Loaded Deoderant (BOGOF)..
    Sub-total (before BOGOF) 6.96
Multisave total A WHOPPING (minus) -5.97
So got the four items for 99p! Eliminates the need for any vouchers and gives you almost a fiver towards your shopping. So speculate to accumulate folk.

    Definately store specific.

Could you explain this one a little further as i cant work out you managed this, i calculate it as

    2 x Loaded Shower Gel @ £1.69 each = £3.38
    2 x Loaded Deoderant @ £1.79 each = £3.58

    Total before BOGOF = £6.96

Less BOGOF (including Glitch @ £1.99) = £2.98 to pay

You could use 1 x £1.25 QK to bring it down to £1.73

Have a missed another Glitch somewhere ????????

  • Hi all:santa2:

    :rudolf:
Just wanted to mention that if anyone is bogged down with toothpaste, toothbrushes and soaps etc and wants to get rid. Would they please look into donating some to those making up boxes for operation Christmas. Your local church or like may be a good place to look. Even better perhaps you could make up a couple of boxes yourself. It's an excellent way to find an appreciative home for some of those freebies acquired during the year.
    :snow_laug
The charity is Samaritans Purse, Operation Christmas Child and this is an excellent time to start doing this.
