I called lloyds bank an hour ago. Told me they cant do anything now because its still pending transaction and I have to wait till monday and go to branch in my city.
Giving a company your card details to make a one-off payment doesn't give them a green light to stick their paws in to your account and take money whenever they choose.
However, as Apples suggests, you may have signed up to additional services or agreed to make other payments during the welcome phone call.
In my experience a bank will refund transactions reported as unauthorised, then investigate, even when a payment has previously made to that company.
Don't give your bank more information than is necessary. There's no need to mention you're diabetic and can't survive on £35. That makes the transaction sounds like buyer's regret.0 -
When I disputed a visa transaction with Lloyds a few months ago I was shown into an office and filled in an online form with the member of staff.
It was nothing to do with a payday loan but they pressed the wrong button to say it was and a big pop up came on screen stating that this form could not be used to dispute the transaction. It said what I have tried to tell OP that he has to follow the procedure laid down by lender to get his money back.
This would be cheaper for him rather than spend some of his scarce money on travelling to a branch when the answer to his problem has already been given.0 -

I've only disputed transactions online via secure message. Nationwide and, IIRC, Capital One, simply refunded the money then sent me a form to complete.
I understand why banks may do as you suggest. They're probably fed up with punters pretending they didn't pay for credit brokerage services.
But an unauthorised transaction is an [STRIKE]authorities[/STRIKE] unauthorised transaction.
Perhaps those who make false claims should be charged a fee for the investigation.0 -
Wonder if Nick made it to the bank and what the outcome was?0
