Tesco mobile cost cap

I have found it to be very effective, although occasionally I will not receive the notification that I am running close to my cap, then receive three at once telling me I'm close, I've hit it and then telling me this again. I have never been overcharged though, which is why I use it0

Sounds good to me. Have you ever tried to change the cap? Online? speaking to a human on the telephone? automated telephone call? What happenned? Did you have to enter or say a password?0

You can increase your limit or buy an extra bundle online or via the mobile app.
Yes, obviously you've got to log into your account in the normal manner to do this.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
My cousin has had a tesco capped contract for the past 3-4 years. He was 14 when he was given it. It's never once been more than the £10 it should be (they introduced the safety buffers after he got his contract). I paid the first year as a present for him and the contract is still in my name But his parents bank, so I'd know if he went over as I get the bills.
Being a teenager he uses a lot of data and when his 2gb is used it simply stops working until his allowance renews.Sigless0 -
My teenage son has had a phone on a Tesco capped contract for the last 2 years. Every month he reaches his data limit, and the system has never let him exceed it, which gives me great peace of mind.
At any time you can log in to your account and add to a 'safety buffer' so Tesco will then allow you to use extra minutes or data up to that buffer amount, but no more.
So, normally my lad just has his normal tariff, but when he went on a school trip to France I added a £40 safety buffer so he could call me from there.
I'm on the same tariff now, cos it saves me having to worry about remembering to check my usage - mind you, I'm really not a heavy user by any means.
I'd recommend them, customer service is good too - well good compared to most mobile companies.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
We've both got capped Tesco contracts, but the allowances in the contract is so high neither of us have managed to go over allowance yet.0

I would agree - the allowances are high
I have just finished a 24 month contract with Tesco. I have changed in the last month of the contract to a £15 a month deal.
3000 minutes
5000 texts
3 Gb Data
Will never go over itbaldly going on...0
