Good luck, you'll probably need when he realises there are no bars & he can get out, luckily it took my DD about 3 months to figure that one out:rotfl:

Good luck mine slept great in a bed, better than they did in a cot as they weren't bumping themselves I think. Couple of pillows or a duvt on the floor just incase.
One day I might be more organised...........

good idea to go straight to the single bed, we had terrible problems with our daughter for her first 2.5 years with her sleeping in her cot, we were at our witts end with her so we got her a single bed, from that moment she went to her bed with no problems and the pass 2.5 years of staying up with her until 2am (she would scream and scream when she was in her cot, she would actually vomit through screaming so much, we could never put her down awake into her cot, instead we had to make a bed on the floor and lie with her until she wen to sleep, oh the mismanagement of first children eh? ;-) )

You need to upgrade to a kingsize and even that feels too small with a baby in it too

lol i got a super kingsize and can comfortably fit 2 toddlers in it :D

i also went straight to a single bed but rolled up a spare double duvet to put by the side incase he fell out. which he did but no harm done
It only seems kinky the first time.. :A
  • first night went very well, he did get out of bed once, but I put him straight back and left him. He cried for a bit but then fell asleep, slept right through till 7:30 this morning and when he woke up he just played in his bed. Normally he's shouting mummy, mummy etc for up to an hour!!!

:j :j Great news, have kept checking back for updates, that is really good, I also found mornings they were much more settled when in a bed. It may seem a little crackers to some but my DS2 was in a bed before he could walk, at 18 months he was just too tall and big for his cot, starting to try to climb out, so we put him in a bed, he loved it. Walked eventually at 2 and a bit.

We bought our daughter a cotbed from Babies r us, which is part of Toys r us. The cot was good and we changed to the bed when she was about one and half years old. We passed it on to Sister in law when our daughter was 4 and a bit. Is a wooden framed bed. It cost £99.99 but the matress was extra.
Really worth the money I thought.
