Abbey credit card online and cancellation question.

I have 2 Abbey credit cards fo the last 6 years.
At first the online log on was linked to the Abbey website, then the log on for those cards were shifted to a separate website, now they seems to have started a log on link on their website again, for which you need to register again, but some credit cards starting with some numbers have to carry on logging in on the separate website (I think it's an Mbna website?).
My cards start with those excepted numbers so I have to use the separate website to see my online account.
Does that mean that the cards I've got are shifted to Mbna and eventually they will transfer me to Mbna when my credit card expire and I am sent a new card?
Do I have to contact Abbey or Mbna to cancel the cards?
