    Hadn't thought much about the possibility of asbestos. Of course we will need a test to be sure but the ceiling has fan-looking patterns and Google gives me exactly the that when I search "textured ceiling" and "asbestos." Yikes. Panic!!!! Looks like no changing of footprints at this point.

    No , its not likely . Just possibly.

    Have removed a number of 70's dodgy looking ceilings with no problems.
    If the ceilings are looking rubbish, THIS is the time to remove.

    Original Victorian ceilings, will be coming to end of their life ( they have lasted well).You have to ask why artex was used in the 70/80's .

    Ps I started renovating in the late 70's. AND yes I also applied my share of Artex
