  • Morning fencers, thank you all for being so very kind and supportive yesterday, it's very much appreciated and helped immensely. It was a double whammy yesterday as DD had an appointment to get a suspicious mole looked at at the exact same time as our vet visit. I was quite a long way above the ceiling!!! However, all is well and DD is OK about Olaf, very sad, but we all know it was the kindest thing even if it was very difficult at the time.

I had been planning a trip to the city this morning but the forecast is so good that I think I'll just enjoy the sun and be in the garden, the city will still be there for me another day.

SOFTSTUFF I hope your poor FIL doesn't have to wait for too long to get his shoulder mended, so painful for him, I hope he's given priority for an op!

Have yourselves a good day and I hope you all get some of this nice sun, Lyn xxx.

Quite fancy a tea box under a rosemary plant in the sun meself!
Maggie cream is much more expensive looking and more restful to the eyes than glaring bright white on a newborn.
Ivy my RV was referred for an "urgent" cardio appt and had the 24 hour monitor on. He's had 3 heart attacks and his heart is lumping and bumping and stuttering like mad - it took 7 weeks to come back!
  • MAR I'm going under a tree somewhere, He Who Knows says it should be Holly or Hawthorn!!! I don't mind but quite fancy an Oak which is my favourite tree but as long as it's in the sun and I can have the birdies, particularly blue tits giving the tree a good going over I'll be happy!

Seven weeks? Good grief! And I think you said he was told he was fine and "it must just be him!"? Poor RV :(

My heart's not nearly as lumpy and bumpy as that, and some days it's quite well-behaved. My GP just wants to be on the safe side, I think. I do notice it's worse when I'm feeling very stressed.

Softstuff Your poor FIL, what a long time to have to wait around with a broken bone :(

Camelot :naughty::D Glad you're having fun!

Good morning fencers, sunny at last here but cool. Can cope with that! Sorry for all the posters waiting for test results and treatment. Going to surf looking for new recipes. Fed up with pasta and omelettes. Hope you all have a good day.

Hi All - lovely day here (sorry Mardatha if its not so bright with you) DH has taken the power washer off me 'cos now I've got to the 'easy' bit & he wants a go!
Bought some metal garden stakes yesterday & they're now threaded through some heavy mesh to support the beans - wonder if I dare plant them outside yet?
Scary to read how long some of you have had to wait for results of tests - its bad enough having to go for them without adding to the worry & stress
Mrs L - you've a lovely spot for Olaf. I've decided my ashes are going either under the yew trees in Kingley Vale (they could do with a bit of potash) or up on the barrow with whoever got buried there in the middle ages. I know I wont be disturbed and I'll either have a beautiful view of the Solent and the downs or have the wildlife under the yews. As they've been estimated to be in excess of 1200 years old I think I'd be comfy ;)
Hope everyone has a good day and gets the chance to enjoy the lovely weather
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Had a busy morning as after breakfast DH had a fall and I had to haul him up. Then dragged the superking memory foam topper for our mattress upstairs, unpacked it and managed to heave it onto our bed. I had no idea how heavy it would be and feel quite triumphant that I managed it by myself.

Made lunch with chicken breasts, peppers, onions, courgette and potato to use up some of stuff in the fridge. Having a sit down before I sort out clean clothes to take to York for DD in hospital later this afternoon.

Pity I can't clone myself and be in two places at once. ;)
