    Hi,
Sorry not been around much to have had time to reply, seam to do doing some long hours . Not long back in from bar, from 1 this afternoon , ... back there I the morning 10 30 ish ... hey ho
The feed back from the " I see dead people" guy was odd .....he did private readings before the show ( 3 hours) £25 per reading , then show time,£8 per ticket , with a special guest, so 7 30 ish till 10 . Then special offer of ?15 per reading till we asked them to go at 1130 ish ! It was a private booking so not paid for by us . Thankfully , but the reviews were mixed , everyone said the guest was bad , very unsure of what they were saying, could have been anybody kind of thing . Private reading again 50/50 some good some random , but the ones that were good ,to be honest I think they would be very easy to read , give information , if you know what I mean...
but again ,the show was standard stuff , " old man , may be jack or John , think he worked in a pit , he wears a cap .... " kind of thing ( bearing in mind ,I live in a small north east village that had at least 4 pits ) , other stuff like " person died a horrid way not long ago , wants to speak with there daughter ..." without trying to sound suspicious but if you do a Google search on my village , it brings up about a murder a few years back , with full family details etc... so I do have an open mind but maybe the club/pub venue at £ 400 , a show isn't it . And yes everyone is entitled to make a living .....
But at least this one was polite , the last one was a absolutely horrid piece of work, who was downright nasty to staff before and after the show , but was sooooo lovely to the potential money customers. They had a personality change as soon as a customer walked in , but they all said she was rubbish .

Right better get some sleep , we have a kids neon disco party on tomorrow that I a on the bar for , so whoop whoop .....now where did I put those bright pink leg warmers ????? .......Ttfn

That's interesting burtha. I think £25 is the standard price, & would be a wee bit dear for me to pay lol. I do feel sympathy for the medium though, because in a wee pit village then a high proportion of dead rellies will have worked doon the pit :) But I don't think it's ethical to do this in a pub. People can get upset when they've been drinking and take things to heart etc. The medium could have hired a wee hall or else done only private readings in a corner of the lounge, like a pal of mine does. Or better still, do it in the Spiritualist church.
I've been very fed up last few days and I think it's because I'm starting to feel better, and I need to get out . Been living in jammies in the house since Oct 2015 when I started to feel really bad, and I've just reached the limit lol. The RV refuses to go anywhere in winter as *the car gets dirty then I have to cleanit*.... and if I say right let's get the bus up to Edinburgh it changes to *aye and sit on a bus full of folk coughing and catch something*... If he lives to se Easter it will be a miracle. He won't let me out myself in case I faint/get ill/drop dead - which shouldn't happen now that the meds are sorted.

Aw, poor mar! You do sound stir-crazy. I must say I'm with the RV in not wanting to sit in a bus full of folks coughing. I got a chest infection after coming back from Malta once on a flight where half the passengers were coughing and spluttering, especially the chap just in front of me.

Oh hell Ivy that's really hard lines !! I know he's right but I just need to get out of here, maybe get a half decent sunny day this week and we can go out in the car for a bit, and eat or something.
  • Hi.. Just wanted to say Thank you to everyone here for the wonderful thread..
I'm what's fondly known as a lurker..:o:o:o I've been reading your posts for well over a year and its been, at times, the only thing that has kept me from going totally bonkers!!
The thread and all you guys within it have given me hope when I often felt there was none and made me laugh when I eally felt like hiding under the nearest table and wailing like a banshee....
I have decided 2017 is going to be a year for doing things, not hiding out hoping it misses me, then wondering why I'm frustraited and grumpity as I can't move on!
Soo.. Thanks once again & I hope you won't mind me chipping in every now n then..:D

Welcome, MadamMim2013 the more the merrier.

ivyleaf you were bound to catch what ever the guy in front of you had, that was the way the air circulated. They have recently studied it and changed the way the air circulated.

If I caught something every times I went on public transport I would always be ill. On Tuesday I go to the Christie Hospital again. I get my local bus to the station, then the train to Manchester and then an hour on the bus, then the same coming back.

This last couple of months I have been running all over the place for tests and I have not caught anything. All this public transport is probably making me immune.

I went to see friend's family (the one who sadly passed away), he has asked if I can go to their house in the mornings to get the children ready for school so he can go to work early and be home for them. Although I feel honoured to be asked (friend didn't like anyone looking after her children), I'm also not sure how it would work. I start work at 8.15 which isn't a problem with the children as they can go to breakfast club - they are at the school I work in, it's just committing myself to getting up at 5 every morning to be there at 6. Any thoughts? I do feel I should do it for them to help out.

As a widow who was left with a 4 year old child and no help I'd say....don't go anywhere near this. Too many ifs and buts. What do you do when he's gone to work and a child gets up ill? It's also way too early not to have an impact on your own life. Maybe for the occasional emergency but he really needs to employ someone whose specific job it is to be there 2 hours before school starts.

Honestly - I think he's still in shock and hasn't thought this through. It's all been a bit quick.

Thanks for all your thoughts and comments, pretty much what I have thought. I can't take holidays outwith term time so that's not an issue and wouldn't mind doing the odd day during the holidays but with my 3 children all grown up and moved out I really don't want to be tied again after all these years, it's bad enough having holidays when the children do!

I believe the chap thinks I understand the situation more than anyone he knows (I kind of do as DH died 11 years ago when my children were 17, 16 and 13), but his children are so much younger. I'll wait until after the funeral (Friday) and have a talk with him again.

It's so cold here, the wind would cut you in two, I've lit the wood burner but may have to go for a bath to heat myself up.
