The Garden Fence - help and support in tough times

Morning all,
OH is back in work today, and for several days off and on to do with results. It shouldn't be full days, but he has never done it before so isn't sure. I have some laptop work to do this morning and then hopefully I can take some work out into the garden. This afternoon's walk will be dedicated to blackberry picking--I think there should be enough ripe now.
The wedding we're attending soon is driving me a bit mad. The suggested dress seems to keep changing between fairly casual and cocktail. Several of OH's work colleagues and bosses will be there so I don't want to look out of place. I'm just taking comfort in the fact that they're probably just as confused by the 'updates' on dress as I am. I think it really boils down to the bride and groom catering to several different groups of people and wanting them all to feel comfortable. I don't blame them but it does feel like a guessing game!
Hester all I have is a hug and a cuppa and a nice quiet ear.
Mrs LW I'm so glad it turned out to be a case of crossed wires but you must have been very worried. I quite like softstuff's suggestion of a stripey one
Nursemaggie I had a bit of a scratchy throat at the end of the day yesterday. There must have been something floating about. I hope you're feeling better today and if not, I think there is rain on the way which should settle it!0 -
I hope the hay fever is just a random unusual event that passes quickly Nursemaggie.
Fingers crossed the funeral goes ok for you Hester.
Work is completed to a point here. Plenty of it still needs doing, but not with the contractor full time in the house, which is a blessed relief. We were measured for the shower screen today, but now I'm freaking out in case it isn't done right. I think I'm just very high up on the anxiety scale right now and can't calm myself down. And I've broken my toe, again. Think I need steel toe capped slippersSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Fairyprincess, you could go in fancy dress and stand out from them all, since it seems anything goes!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Thanks for your sympathy. Not so bad today, got to go out soon for a mammogram. They are extending the age range.
Funny stripey is female anyway. Can't fully explain that, will post the explanation when I find the video on YouTube. Can't remember who posted it.
I would rather not have rain have some towels that have been waiting three days for a washing line. I wish people would not put washing out before dawn and leave it out until it is nearly dark. Stupid idea only having one whirlygig for 18 flats.0 -
Softstuff if your screen has right & wrong sides, make sure it goes in the right way before it is grouted in...don't ask me how I know2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Morning everyone, is there any more tea in that pot? Hugs and kisses to you all.
I am all emotional today, I have just dropped my hubby and Uncle off at the train station. Uncle P has dementia, autism and chronic schizophrenia. He has been in care for several years now, and is an OAP. Uncle has been wanting to visit HMS Belfast, that is moored on the Thames in London, for many years. So my darling hubby is taking him today. Uncle was confused yet SO excited to be going. My hubby used to be in the Navy, Uncle P the Merchant Navy many moons ago. So I pray all goes well today. For Uncle it is a proper Boys day out.
So yes, after a terrible row with our neighbours yesterday (I will post on my neighbours demolished our fence thread), and both proud and yet worried about today, I am rather emotional.
A little advice please. Rummaging through my very large freezer draws, I came across a bag of gooseberries. These were given to me by my late mother, about three years ago. They were freshly picked from her garden, will they still be ok? That was another thing that made me emotional, as it brought memories of when I was a little girl, topping and tailing the gooseberries, ready to make gooseberry fool.
I'll pop back later, to read your advice, thanks for the tea.

Floss, I didn't even know there was a right or wrong side... good thing I'm not installing it
I emailed a sketched layout to the company with the hope of double checking. Fingers are crossed.
Tipsntreats, hope they have a lovely time. Sorry I have no idea about the gooseberries, not something I've ever dealt with. Sending hugs.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

Ours has a smear-free treated side, which goes inside with the shower head...not on the outside like ours was fitted!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Tips, big hugs. The gooseberries will be safe to eat, although they may be a bit different in texture. They may need a bit more/less water, but I imagine they'd be just perfect in a fool.
SoftstuffI'm very, very tempted to choose fancy dress at this point!:D0
